I think the team lacked discipline and accountability. IB hopefully will reflect on this and make some changes to the expectations of the players. Too much rope given to TE. Had we used his strength as a spot up 3 pt shooter our offense would have been so much better. He was allowed to do pretty much what he wanted to do on and off the court. He will cash a check somewhere next season.

DD and MU are decent players but limited in their abilities. They are who they are. They both are graduating so who could complain if they stay or leave.

No way in hell Gregg goes to NmSU because he is going to get a high major offer soon. Hell, Sean Miller is already cheating again. You think Gregg isn’t going to get a job for tapping Shaq on the back?

Then we are going to be the douchie little woke bunch that couldn’t stand success and certainly couldn’t preserve it. We worried for 10 years that our HOF coach would leave, then ran him off. Most schools name the facilities after their legends. We fire them and run there name through the mud and act like their only act was to “abuse” players no matter how much they do for the community. All you hear about is “the coach who was caught abusing players” Really? I can’t believe I am saying this but that doesn’t make the job attractive.

Yea I think I’ll go take the WSU job, be successful and then get run out of town nearing retirement. Two of the most beloved Coaches this town ever saw, Stephenson and Marshall, pariahs.

MK: “Well, WSU took a team that just made it into the Elite Eight and that is coming off a Final Four trip last season to 2OT and another team who was the #2 overall seed to OT on a neutral court.

Would you say that is a good indication of how good this team could have been if the ball bounced their way a few more times or if they could have hit a few more of their shots?”


IB: “Yeah, we’ve got to get better at some of those things and it starts with me. I promise we are going to work on not turning the ball over and taking better shots. I need to put this kids in a better position to win.

I keep reminding them that we need to keep intensity and focus for the full forty minutes and I promise we will do a better job of that next season.”


MK: “Also, we have a former Shocker who is playing in the Elite Eight. Trey Wade. And he was a big part of that win over the overall #1 seed.

Does that speak to the kind of players that WSU can bring in to help retool this roster?”


IB: “Yeah, I’m just so proud of him. He’s a great kind and very coachable. He comes to work everyday and does what it takes to win. I think some of that culture is still here and that locker room and I’m excited to see these kids develop over the same as well as who we bring in and show them what Shocker basketball is all about.”


MK: “Well it’s clear there is a lot to be excited about the program for Shocker fans as they wait for the upcoming season. Remember, this team is only a year removed from winning the conference regular season!

Hopefully, Shocker fans continue to show up and support you coach and the rest of the team. Good luck this Summer.”

It was remarkably accurate. I could even hear their voices. Fun side chat on this. Ole Good-man went off on Butler because they waited 22 days to fire Lavall Jordon because his buyout dropped significantly on April 1. He was completely ignoring the fact that ADs have a financial responsibility TO THEIR SCHOOLS. Not to a coach. His rants included pointing out that butler would struggle to hire a new coach after this. Well here we are ... All of two days later and they hired Thad Matta lol
