Was I the only one that felt like the announcers were paid to prop up Memphis like they had just ascended to the #1 ranking? Their responses to an admittedly very impressive Memphis win seemed more than just a little over the top.

Wow, Memphis players were seeing the court, moving the ball around, and
defending the ball like crazy. If they play D like that against us it could be a long
night. We will have to match them with tough D of our own. Could be a very
ugly game 1/1

Memphis 92 #6 Alabama 78. Memphis showed their Jimmys and Joes. Breakthrough or one hit wonder? #18 Tennessee is next.
Houston 71 Louisiana 45 Cougars are pretty good. Every game will be a war with these guys.
South Florida 60 Austin Peay 51. Better than 60-51 Austin Peay
South Carolina 110-51 over Allen University. TP managed 9 shots in 15 minutes. That's elite stuff right there.
Cincinnati 77 Florida A&M 50 The Bearcats have the right guy for the job.
Wake 77 VMI 70 Steve Forbes is doing everything right at Wake Forest. Another successful branch in the Marshall tree. WF is 10-1
UAB 79 Grambling 61 New member is 9-2 and figuring out home scheduling is important. I like that in a conference mate.
ISUr 81 Quincy, M.E. 63 I miss Jack Klugman
South Alabama 69 Tarleton 62 USA is now 9-2.
UNI 66 Jackson State 56 Jackson State led 32-25 at half and the Panthers were watching their at large hopes vanish into the crisp autumn Iowa air, but a big 2nd half saved them.
North Texas 65 Sam Houston 55. UNT will come into CKA on a 4 game heater. KU only beat them by 12. Everything we want, and then some.
UC Davis 71 Oregon State 64. Jim Les still kicking at UC Davis
And in the feel good game of the night......
Arizona State 58 Creighton 57 The fighting sweater vests got caught with their pants down and were behind late when they had to foul several times to get into the 1-1. A really inexcusable coaching mistake imho. Down 2 with 37 seconds left they only made 1 of 2 FTs, then waited until only :09 were remaining until they decided to start fouling. They only had 3 fouls at the time. Foul on Alexander, foul on Nembhard, Timeout CU, foul on Alexander, foul on O'Connell with 6 seconds (St Louis clock operator apparently) that finally resulted in the 1-1. Missed FT. Timeout CU. Missed shot at the buzzer. CU loses. Good times. Reminder, ASU scored 29 points at home in a 22 point loss to Washington State.

The Mean Green of North Texas State can't wait to play the Shocks. They know how to beat Drake. They have played the best team in Kansas. They are not scared of the Shocks. Their plan is simple. Let DD shoot. Clang!!!! TE will choke. CP is scared to shoot. The rest of the Shocks is more turnovers and extra errors. Looks like it might be a signature win for North Texas. I hope I am wrong but this team talks a good game but apparently doesn't have the discipline to do the work to beat teams like this. Go Shocks.

North Texas IS a threat...their point played at Coffeyville last year and is solid(better than what we currently have, without being meanspirited)....and they HAVE played quality comp...
BUT....Can you imagine that we EVER would have thought "just get the ball to Mo' was a great idea????:)

TP managed a 2-9 FG and 0-5 3pt night. The rest of the team (mostly non-starters) were 43-74 FG and 12-27 3pt.
To give TP credit where due, he had 5 rebounds and 6 assists (only 1 TO) in his 15 minutes.
