I checked Cameo to see if any current WSU players have joined, but none so far. Landry Shamet though has joined. Otherwise there have been a lot of new NCAA people. It also breaks thinks down by college. So far, Notre Dame has the most with 43 - some current players but a lot of former students, such as Joe Theisman. Alabama and UCLA are in 2nd and 3rd.

In case you're not familiar with Cameo, you can pay people to create video messages for others. Kind of interesting to see who is on Cameo and how much they charge. For example, Rashard Kelly charges $25 per 'cameo call'. Lots of coaches on there - Self, Calipari, Cronin, Penny, etc. - https://www.cameo.com/search?q=coach

You can visit with Ron Baker (search On Cameo app)… I see he has/had an account when he played for the Knicks. I believe Cameo started in 2016.

You pick the person on the site and fill out a request for them to create a personalized video and mention for who and why, such as birthday wishes, congrats on something, just a pep talk, etc. They have 7 days to make the video and if they don't then you don't get charged. There are some examples on YouTube of calls that people have received from people on the site.

Basically it's taken the concept of you asking someone you know who is famous to call a friend and wish them a happy birthday, to a large scale where you can ask anyone who is famous, although that term could be used loosely with some on the site, to wish your friend a happy birthday. Also, they're known as calls but the person doesn't actually phone your friend, but instead creates a video message that is sent to the them. Some people on the site will even do social media DM's I think and I read there are a few that will even do zoom video calls.

It's hard to think in terms of a salary cap for "student-athletes", but that's going to have to happen.

This would never fly, but past a certain point, NIL comes out of the coaches salary. That's where a lot of the money from athletics has gone.

I don't know what Bama's coach makes, but if there was a $1 mill NIL cap, he could recruit past that, but that would reduce his salary. That would totally violate existing contracts, but renegotiating those contracts might come into play.

Never happen, but if a coach wants to win, the cost of that coming out of his salary isn't a bad idea. Coaches are only getting those salaries because the players are free.

NIL will pay the college of choice. Every time. It's kind of like open season.

But the same as always..which college can pay the most. Look for the teams that cheated the most of all to still rise above. The bluebloods.
