Shockers and NIL deals

I saw some NIL collectives that have monthly subscriptions... E.g. subscriber only videos from players, birthday wishes etc based on different monthly tiers. I think a LOT of people would get behind that, both here and with TSF folk.

Maybe my next project after the billboards. Not sure if I have enough know-how on the legal side to start that but it's a groundbreaking idea that allows those of us not fortunate enough to make 6 figure deals a bit of NIL power. Sign the whole roster and dish out the profits evenly per month.

Hopefully not until we see meaningful change either on the court or a change in leadership. It's a great idea but assuming this project would be down the road.

There's no conference upgrade to be had without football, unless you'd consider a potential MWC invite an upgrade. And the only way that happens is if the AAC falls apart and somehow loses it's media deal edge that it has over the MWC and SMU and a couple of others go West. And I don't really see that happening.

Big East? If WSU could get its ducks in a row and get back to being a relevant force in men's basketball (I know, I know), it's not out of the realm of possibility since the Big East does want to expand with basketball-centric institutions.

In what world are a bunch of Catholic schools, mostly back east, going to invite a public school from central KS? UConn had deep roots with the core of the conference which is why they're the exception. There are a number of schools ahead of us on the BE pecking order, most of which are Catholic.

I get the want from many on this, but it's not going to happen. The one ally we may have had in such an endeavor retired a few years ago. We don't fit in culturally and we don't have the population base or HS basketball scene to be that attractive to them even if we were good again. They'd be more likely to double down in a couple of markets. SLU is definitely ahead of us on any expansion plans. There are a lot of east coast schools that could jump the line.

Plus, if you think travel costs are bad now, they get a lot worse in the BE. Wichita is better off being aligned with urban public schools and having schools in Texas. The university itself has seen a lot of positives by aligning with the AAC even if our athletics has struggled due to poor leadership. .

And I'm not sure how eager the BE really is to expand and if they do, it's probably one school. Three tops. And since Gonzaga is really the only one they want, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I know you guys have just gotten up and running, but I would love to see you eventually provide some sort of connections and opportunities for the likes of Addison Barnard and Sydney McKinney. I know the main focus is and should be men's basketball, and I'm sure baseball is an important program to help as well, especially considering the background of those that have started this, but I hope others aren't overlooked in the long run.

I also know it's easy for me to say these things as it's not my money or connections that are involved. I wish I had such a place where I could do something more, but we do have some good women's sports that I do think can help raise the overall profile of the university should basketball ever recover.

It's so much easier spending other people's money :)

See I disagree, I think football will VERY soon break off and be its own thing with its own commissioner and set of rules and that will open up basketball conferences to not be bound by football. Similar to the way the Missouri Valley Conference is technically different from the Missouri Valley Football Conference. With football being its own thing that moves MBB up on the totem pole to #1

If football breaks off, that would probably open the door to new alignment for basketball as well.

Both sports will want to position themselves as strongly as possible.
