How about Wichita State and Creighton to the MWC.

I would be down for Utah State, and Tulsa: especially Tulsa.
Our conference leaders are looking at a conference merger with CUSA. I don't know about that because after CUSA got raided they were left with several schools that don't bring much for basketball. If they could convince some A-10 teams(Temple, UMass, Xavier) to join, I think they could present a strong eastern division in a great big league.
I would love to see a MWC with Tulsa and Utah State in it though. Both of those schools are traditionally strong at hoops.
Real time R.P.I. is the site I looked at the has the MWC at 5th in R.P.I., above the ACC. Other sites project us to finish fourth this year.
The MWC is a really fun league. It kind of sucks that UNLV gets to cost the conference tournament every year, but I get to road trip to Vegas for 4 days every year in March. They're thinking about building an N.B.A. arena in Vegas so the games are played on a neutral court, but Wyoming always seems to do well in Vegas, so I don't mind.

Those bracket busters are a joke. The MWC has always refused to play in them. One, we don't want to be labeled as mid-major at anything. Two, the brackets they are trying to bust are for non-bcs schools. Basically, they try to use the tournament to deliver any at larges that would fall outside of the big six leagues to the big six leagues. They certainly aren't breaking the 8th place ACC teams bracket. Usually, they bust the Wac's at large chances instead.
Screw that tournament. There are much better ways to build your tourney resume then through that b.s. tournament.Last edited by StillCJ; February 11, 2012, 01:35 PM.

RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.

Love the idea with a few exceptions. Any deal would have to include Tulsa, there is no debate about this. The only problem is baseball. Potential rivals would be Fresno and Air force would draw well. If we could somehow align with Rice and Tulane then things really start looking up. The perfect conference imo for is would be....
Conference West Basketball
Wichita
Tulsa
Creighton
Tulane
Rice
Southern Miss
Mo State
Utep
Air force
Unm
CSU
Wyo
USU
Fresno
UNLV
UNR
CONFERENCE WEST FOOTBALL
Fresno
Nevada
UNLV
Hawaii
SJSU
USU
Air force
Wyo
CSU
UNM
Utep
Rice
Tulane
USM
CONFERENCE WEST BASEBALL
Wichita
Creighton
MSU
Rice
Southern Miss
Nevada
UNLV
Fresno
Air force
Tulane
New Mexico
Mo State keeps its football in the mvfc, SJSU and Hawaii are football only. What is not to like? It really is the best of the rest conference in every sport.

Well, it is official, kind of. It looks like the MWC and C-USA will be merging into a 16 team conference. The interesting point is that they see the conference containing 18-24 members. If CU and WSU are invited, I hope we make the jump. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....
.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

wouldn't we be able to buyout or whatever it we would need to do to leave the conference like the other schools have to do when they switch? Like pay the necessary exit fee out of the MVC and then other costs for breaking the BB contract. I think if we were given the chance, we would take it in a heartbeat especially with the conference teams that were discussed above. i think the costs for leaving would not be as great as the benefits for the move imho.
