I haven't agreed with everything Fever has said about Gal but he does have some very valid points/concerns that some seem to just want to dismiss.
Lets face it, Gal has a lot of work to do. I'm kind of surprised he was offered a Euro contract. Unless they base them off of potential much like the NBA does. I'm not sure how great Gals potential really is, but I know he can be better than he has been.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Ask yourself one question. Who is going to replace Gal on this roster?Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

This whole discussion reminds me of the "FiFi" discussion that occurred about four years ago.
Wasn't it amazing how things turned out in that situation after all of the criticism that a certain player withstood on this board -- , i.e., can't jump, can't catch a pass, slow, etc.?
Just curious! Déjà vu?

It does feel the same as Paul Miller's early days around here when it comes to Gal. Both players could get the crowd to groan at Koch arena; hopefully, Gal can follow in Paul's shoes and bust out. I believe he is willing to work as hard as any Shocker to do so which is exactly what Paul did...
As a shocker Gal has improved:
free throw shooting and defense. I would argue that he has tamed his game a little too much and that he could penetrate more often, but he has worked to play within the system which is a great improvement on it's own.
Areas he can improve:
He has to learn to shoot quicker and box-out every time, but I have hope.

Tonight, he got a 10 second violation called on him.
He scored 2 points? I believe on 2 free throws.
The offense had zero flow to it.
The crowd practically had to yell at him to get down the floor considering we needed points quickly.
I'd like to hear back from the peanut gallery on this one..Who is Ryan Clemente?

My "intent" is really never to be negative (for long) about the Shockers. I have rooted for them for over 60 years since I was a young kid. Through the good years and the many not so good years.
I have often wondered what it would have been to be a "Yankee, a Notre Dame, or even a (wash my mouth out with S_ _ _) KU fan" with virtually great seasons all the time. But although we have never enjoyed what they have accomplished, I believe that we treasure and enjoy our infrequent moments of glory much more than they ever could.
Never-the-less, I certainly get disappointed, seriously upset, and still holler and scream when the team fails to live up to hyped-up preseason expectations.
And when I read trite like this, I get carried away.
Why is anyone even attempting to single out one or two players for the team's below average performance so far?
I see no useful point in naming names or listing specifics. Suffice it to say, this has been a team effort. In my opinion, PT is the only starter and Durley the only reserve who have played above their expectations. Every single player (starters and reserves) has contributed to this ever increasing backlog of errors and mistakes.
Virtually everyone is encouraged to shoot a three, but can't make them, no one appears to be able to get open for a two (does our new creative system dismiss the need for screens), we blow layups, and our FT percentage is horrible.
Other than that, I fully concur. It's clearly all Gal's fault (said with a heavy dose of sarcasim just to make sure my intent is clear).

Originally posted by BruceHeartlDroolsHey, chill out dude. He's going to be here for two more years, he has learning to do. And if you will notice, its a part of the Shocker offense to take time getting down the floor, Matt does it too. And about the 10 second violation, come on man. He took his time down the floor just like normal and lost control of the ball and by the time he got it back it was just too late. Until I see you run the WSU offense better than he did, I'd suggest you calm down.
Maybe Gal shouldn't be dribbling the ball of his legs then..Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
