I just checked out the league leaders on the Valley stats web site.
Mekel is 12th in the league in both assists and assist/turnover ratio.
Maybe we have a few fans concentrating on the negatives instead of the positives. Many Valley teams have 3-guard sets. If that's half the teams - then there are 25 guards on the 10 Valley teams. That puts Mekel in the top half of all Valley guards in both assists and assist/turnover ratio.
Not bad for a Sophomore who's learning the American game while learning 2 systems in 2 years under 2 different coaches.
