I would phrase it like this:

Dex has shown great potential since his freshman season on both sides of the court. While he has matured into an elite defender, he has work to do on his offensive game if he wants to make it in the NBA.

I'm not a lib...never offended, and couldn't care less if I offend other as that would be their problem, not mine. But you follow your shot regardless. There are others to move toward half court to defend fast breaks.

I just don't see Dex breaking into the league. Love him and love he is a Shocker but even Cotton couldn't get into the NBA. Is Dex better than Cotton?

He sure does. I like the fact that he and MU are beginning to understand their roles. Rebound and play tough defense. No fouling.. Be strong with the ball. Go up strong with the shot in the paint. He really went after some rebounds. He and MU need to continue to develop an ATTITUDE that this paint on the floor is mine. Further, that they don't care if their shot is blocked. BFD Grab the ball and go up again with the shot or pump fake them into a foul. I loved his midrange shot off the glass. We need ALL our big men taking shots in the paint or midrange shots just like Carl Hall did.

              Keep grinding guys. Go shocks.

It appeared that both coaches didn't coach this game like they normally would. We played 12 players (plus the walk-ons late in the game) with numerous groupings that have rarely played together and none of the regular rotation. Usually, a coach will use his regular 9-10 man rotation and run the other team out of the gym and then insert the additional 2-3 players plus walk-ons toward the end of the halves/game. Tonight, we started with a new point guard (I could be wrong but next game I expect AG back into the starting group). Within 3-4 minutes, several players subbed in, and this irregular substitution pattern continued throughout the game. It appeared to me to be a game intended to get players minutes in the game early, with some experimentation, that would usually not play very much. This often makes for undisciplined play. I still think that game helped by getting minutes to players who won't play very much going forward (outside of practice time) that can use the minutes. With possible injuries and fouls, one never knows who may be needed later on in the year.

I love that DD is on our team. He’s a glue guy that can do a little of everything. His biggest weakness is making decisions on his drives. The pull-up jumper last night is what we need to see. Once they start respecting that aspect of his game, the lane to the basket will open up for him.

DD has more offensive upside than Cotton. Cotton is /was a better defender.

When he starts achieving his upside, then maybe he can be compared. As of now, no comparison.

DD needs to improve his offense this year and next in these areas to have a chance at the NBA.
                          1. 3-pt shooting - He needs to improve to 50% or better. If he does 50% in college, 40-45% in the NBA will be good.
                          2. Driving the ball, which breaks down to the mid-range jumper (just be consistent on this) and
                          3. finishing at the rim.

Nobody shoots 50% from three, let alone better. Wtf?

I thought Shamet shot 50% at one point. I know other college players have.
