I think some of the philosophy is that you are more likely to give up a fast break by being out of position than you are to get your own rebound.

Kinda of a ho hum game. Didn’t have much flow with all the newer guys playing minutes. We did shoot the ball pretty well in the first half.

Thanks to Emporia State U (ESU), or Emporia State Teachers College, for those over the age of 70, for agreeing to schedule this game. No matter what, we do appreciate it.

That is a good question. Could you ask Kennedy to ask coach that question.

Only thing I can think of is the kids thinks it is a act of weakness because it means they don't really believe their shot is going in. This team looks like they need to be following their shot.

Guards shouldn’t follow their shots as it leads to run outs.

I think that's something that has to be learned at an early age.

No, that's rediculous. I saw TE just stand and watch his own shot from the wing. No excuse for that. Shots generally come off the rim either the same direction they're shot from or the opposite angle .
I thought the team looked very undisciplined tonight. Kind of a street ball game. I hope hcib is more demanding in the future. I believe they treated this as a practice game, but you practice doing things right.

This. A team that is emphasizing defense has to maintain position so as not to get beat in transition. Especially the guards. Some guys who are quick enough or have enough gumption are exceptions. Monzy being one.

I agree with the poster who said DD should take more mid range shots or head fake and take it to the hole off the dribble. I think that’s why he’s kind of been in a rut. For whatever reason that part of his game hasn’t developed. He could be a monster and a loaf to handle because right now defenses just focus on stopping him at the perimeter and that’s all you have to do when he’s not a threat otherwise.

But, his defense, leadership, and attitude are exceptional. Love DD.

Perhaps if you weren't looking for ways to be offended, you might have a different outlook.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                              Poor Bear looks more confident.

To me, DD is no better now than he was as a freshman. Still doesn’t handle the ball well enough to drive the basket, and is a streaky shooter. Defense was always good, maybe slightly better than the freshman DD, but not enough to make up for the lack of improvement in other areas.
