I cannot 100% give substantiated proof of all this, but I guess in 2020 we donāt have to. I trust the places I hear it from though.
I have heard other stories as well too.The Assman

The fact Marshall came out and denied everything from day one had me believe WSU knew about the event 5 years ago, And had already had some sort of discussion or small disciplinary action (who knows maybe even signed a NDA not to talk about it and thatās why 3G was so confident enough to deny it). The fact WSU is paying out half of the buy out only proves to me that they knew this entire time and had come to an agreement.
The most troubling realization for me are not the accusations but that it seems the students and faculty and the major money supporters behind WSU are in completely different spheres of perception. The students and faculty see the school one way, the donors want it another way. The problem is, the donors lost on this one. I donāt see how after their support for Marshall and he gets canned why they would want to pour any money into a university that no longer feels like ātheirā university. Right or wrong.
I have trouble seeing a future where these same donors open up their bank accounts for a top tier coach when they feel like they already had their guy. And now WSU is on the hook for over a mil for the next 6 years to Marshall on top of whatever they pay the new coach. Iām guessing it doesnāt go well and we end up in the cellar for the next decade. I suppose itās a good thing weāre in Kansas, with all the tornadoes we should be used to living in the cellar.
And then the bitter cherry on top of the $hit pile, I do very much believe Marshall, with all his competitive nature, will definitely look for another job. And when he lands a great gig and he has that team in the tourney every year, everyone will have already forgot about the accusations and will be praising his name nationally. These are dark days for WSU but I believe the darkest days are still to come.
Anyone can attack me all they want for not being sensitive enough or what ever, but all I know is I hope I didnāt piss off the wrong person 5 years ago, because in this day in age where people want āchangeā they donāt care if some one can change. They just want something different.I just want to stand on land...

It was up to the university to prove they could fire him for nothing and they apparently failed. The Assman
