Once again, WSU cannot win the big game and get over the hump. That has been the MO of this team for the past decade, save the 05-06 season. We should have 5+ NCAA trips in the 2000's but time and time again cannot win the big game. Frustrated beyond belief, and it's time to have a few New Year's beers and forget about this. Hopefully this is a wake up call or we are watching a replay of the last two seasons and yet another NIT trip.

What I'm sick of is that every time we seem to have a big game, we pee down our leg. I'm sick of the CU's and the MSU's and the UNI's always getting over on us. Yes, I'm sick of being on the bubble, but when are we ever not going to be? We could have won this game, and could get jobbed by the selection committee. The past 3 or 4 years have gone the same. Lose big game, win 6, get hopes back up, lose to a team we should beat. Pretty much how XMan explained it. It's going to happen every year. So, I guess I'm not going to worry about the end of the season until the end of the season. But the posts just seemed a little manic. After the Bradley game, we were going to go 18-0, now, we aren't even a tournament team.
Who the hell knows whats going to happen. I just hope we figure out a way to win when we go 5 - 30 from three point range. I would also like to stop losing to Creighton. I don't believe this team is as good as last year. Stutz is not consistent enough, and neither are our shooters. Which means we will get hot come March and have a great year, or we go cold and lose the games that determine your season. 1-3 so far in those games. (every loss counts)"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Not going to win many games shooting that poorly. I do think we played hard (with the exception of Garrett who seemed to be in over his head). Carl played like a man. Garrett played like .... not a man.
I wonder if the fact that we had not played a competitive basketball game in 3 weeks may have had something to do with they way we played tonight.
Perhaps the biggest positive, other than Carl's strong play, was we were pretty much in this game despite only playing about 10 minutes of good basketball.
Let's hope we got this out of our system but losing key games is becoming a troubling habit for the Shocks.
Still, we have a long way to go and I am hoping tonight proves to be just one of those nights.

You almost had it right 'Fever. There is no bigger defender or fan of 3G than I, but McDermott bent him over and pounded him all night long...it was embarrassing.
The ONLY thing that was done correctly was the preparation in defending McDouchebag. But I'm giving Hall the credit there.

I don't know how many times I uttered 'embarrassing' to myself in the second half. Garrett and Toure, where were you? This is your senior season and you are talking about how you want to go to the NCAA Tournament. However, you didn't show up when the time to prove yourselves came tonight. Just sick to my stomach watching that second half. Hold Dougie to 12 points and lose? Should not happen, step up.
11-43 from the field for our seniors tonight. Freaking step up, if you want to do big things this year.

Fowl shooting nights will happen to the best of teams. However, the way we started both halves in such sluggish fashion is correctable. Tonights game was a slugfest. Creighton was bound and detemined to cram it inside with hopes of getting Mr. Stutz and Mr. Hall in foul trouble. This was what I wanted us to do to them much more than we did.
Creighton was supposed to be a high-octane team. In the 2nd half, when they got a nice lead, they milked the clock and did it fairly well. This home loss was a tough pill to swallow and now it is back to the drawing board. There was times I was impressed with Creighton's D. However, there were plenty of times that we had wide open shots and could not throw the rock in the ocean.
Now we go on the cold and loney road and better be winning both of those 2 games. Our beloved Shocks will get it right and they also know this loss could have been avoided. There is lots of ball still yet to be played. We have 5 Seniors with plenty of experience along with Carl Hall who came to play tonight.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Plenty of time to get it squared away this season, but this is a trend of not getting it done when our opportunities are served up on a silver platter. The unfortunate part is I am not even that upset. Much like Edmund Dantes expecting my birthday beating.Wichita State, home of the All-Americans.
