Owning guns - Okay
Smoking weed - Whatever
Smoking weed in a public parking lot with guns in the car - Not a great look
I don't do either one, but I don't see a problem. Not like they were shooting at people in the parking lot or anything. I understand the optics aren't great, but I carry a pocket knife...if my brother, myself and a couple buddies are at a bar comparing knifes, is that a big deal? To me it's basically the same thing if nothing is going on.

I didn't say either in itself is illegal (or even both together, though I don't know enough on the laws to state that as fact). Only stating, like you said, it's bad optics.
People get fired/let go for bad optics all the time. Doesn't make them criminals or bad people.

If you are a D1 basketball player at a high profile University that is already having reputational issues and you choose to do this, it shows a severe lack of judgment on your part. I am not talking about the legality or morality of either using weed or having a gun, I am speaking to the self awareness to know when and where to do such things.
If smoking weed automatically makes someone a bad person to you, I have bad news.
Sarcasm maybe? I didn’t mention pot smoking you idiot. I said that he was a great guy 3 months ago when he was here, but then he went to Alabama and ................... you filled in your own narrative, you nitwit. He was never arrested while he was here........... you .............
you like filling In your own narrative so I’ll let you.
If you’re in a car with weed and guns, especially if you’re a high profile person, it’s a bad look, legal or illegal. Smoking weed and driving is called driving under the influence, Being under the influence with guns is a bad combination as well. Anyone that thinks all of this is perfectly fine is out of their minds.

Except they weren’t driving. In fact, the driver got off with nothing. So DUI is out of the picture.

Who else posts fake **** all day in order to maintain the acrimony? Wingnuts, that's who.
If I get tipsy at a social event and embarrass my company, I would/could likely get fired.
Doesn’t mean it’s illegal to drink in public, but if I create bad publicity/optics for the company, I become expendable.
(I know not a 1-for-1 comparison, but both situations are ones where the person involved put themselves in the situation their in through their own actions)
He was just trying to work out an NIL deal. "I don't always smoke weed, but when I do, I go to DeeZ for the best weed in town. You'll always get the best quality and the best deals. See you there for autographs Tuesday."
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
