That's a pretty frustrating article. For example, it's quoting the guy who oversaw the state police:

“The agent made it very clear he wanted to speak to these three basketball players who look like they helped Michael get rid of the weapon and this tablet,” White said. “Your responsibility (as a coach) is to say, 'Hey, you three guys, law enforcement has identified you as being in some yellow Camaro. Now get your butt downstairs and do what you got to do.'”

Yeah, sorry brother, a good coach isn't advising his players to "get your butt downstairs" to talk to the police. They are advising them to not say anything and get a good attorney.

I think he's referring to the time when Cle made an ass out of himself at the TBT. Cle has since got his game back and is killing it. He'll always be loved around here, forget the TBT worthlessness.

I'm talking about the above posted video! He looks like an absolute clown. Not my kind of player. Loved him at wsu. Shows what a great job Marshall did keeping his attitude in check.

did you even watch the posted video? Dancing and mugging after nearly every made basket. Do you enjoy that type of behavior from a player? If a player acted that way against WSU, they'd be public enemy #1

Unfortunately for Heiar, he's going to get the stain if one of his coaches helped the player hide the gun. Heiar's resume isn't super long yet either so it might impact him more than an established coach.

Sounds to me like Coach Heiar did what he had to do to protect his guys and advise them to wait for legal representation and the police have their panties in a knot over it.

Doesn't seem like he hid it. Seems like he was able to get it and contacted NMSU police, who the other agency was coordinating with. It even has the appearance he stayed behind at the hotel with the evidence, instead of getting on the bus. Time will tell though.

Probably. After the criminal investigation has played out, the NCAA will probably contort this thing into lack of institutional control or something. Who knows?

Sounds like 4 or 5 kids needs to go to prison for conspiring to lure the player and premeditatively assaulting him with deadly force though.
