You look at coaches like Few, Wright, Bennet, etc. and they don't get as hot on the sideline.
I know there are some coaches that still run hot, but maybe there won't be for much longer.
Fans that travel with the team are openly told by our athletic director that he goes along to some away games to sequester Marshall after a potential loss so that Marshall doesn't lay into the players until he's cooled down. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I don’t have anything to go on, but I believe the problem is Marshall. I fear we will continue to be on a downward slide the longer he is in charge. Ego and personal style has gotten the best of him, while it was once something we used to our advantage, it is now our Achilles heal. Unfortunately, no one is coming for him and past successes give him a very long leash. Turnover like this will make recruiting even harder for us and we are already falling behind. Not to be overly pessimistic, but I don’t see an upward trajectory for us.

Something like that. Cliff's notes.
Definitely not an internet rumor though.

We all have no idea what happens at practices. I know I don’t. But, let’s say during the “good” years, we see berating of players during a game, but during practice there’s a good amount of support and encouragement taking place. Then, enter some “tougher years” where those in charge haven’t necessarily been before, and when things started getting rough, the same behavior takes place during games, but practices turn into non-supportive, discouraging gripe sessions. Maybe things start getting personal where players who were willing to accept certain aspects of “hard coaching”, but not willing to accept personal attacks. I don’t know anything more than anyone else, but it seems plausible, and somewhat likely in my mind.
