Lose? That is not an option.

As mentioned above we have 2 games, but Nevada also has 2 road games. Both of which online RPI sites are predicting as losses for them. If Nevada is actually an option to play Murray St, we need them to lose and for us to win... Even if we lose both of our games and Nevada wins both of theirs, we'll still have a better RPI, but apparently that doesn't factor in to the pairings.

Well there is certainly one way to dispell and eliminate this concern. Not a slam dunk be any means but eminently doable IF the Shocks play well. Looking forward to the game tonight.

        • I'd be very surprised if Nevada would draw Murray St. I'm much more concerned that Long Beach St steals that game.

            Again, NEVADA?
I see. I missed the link to Katz' comments. Actually I still can't find it.

In the past RPI had the appearance of being a main factor. Yesterday I was looking at the BB field when we were paired with Utah State. WSU and Utah State were very close in their RPIs.

                    • Mark Adams made it clear that the top two matchups should be St Mary's at Creighton and Wichita State at Murray State during his call on the game tonight.

Best game of the evening is Ohio (RPI #71) vs. Western Michigan (RPI #143). In addition, VCU and Kent State face two very bad teams and their RPI Rankings will be dropping regardless if they win or lose.

Yes my faith in ESPN has been restored, because at least one person there has a brain and is using it.

The game was on MVC-TV tonight (which includes espn3 and I guess Fox College Sports for some games anyway). The announcers were MVC-TV announcers and NOT espn announcers.

Really? You couldn't have waited until morning to tell me this information?

Four good games tonight. The game with the greatest impact on Wichita State will be the New Mexico State (RPI #80) vs. Nevada (RPI #72) contest. If New Mexico State, which is favored by Vegas Odds Makers by 4.5 points tonight, can win then that should be put a major hit on Nevada being placed ahead of Wichita State for a top ESPN Bracketbuster TV game. The Loyola-Marymount (RPI #105) vs. Saint Mary's College (RP I#28) also may have some impact, but a win by Saint Mary’s should be sending them to face the number one “Home” team – Creighton. Lastly, the Butler (RPI #106) at Wisconsin-Milwaukee (RPI #117) game has the look, smell, and feel of a play-in or play-out type of contest.
