When I see the word Bracket followed by Busters I can't help but feel my stomach churn at the way last year's ended........
"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden

I like that you're doing these updates, however, you could probably save yourself a lot of time by not including any games where both teams are 80+ RPI. If we end up playing any of those teams, most of us won't care who it is for various reasons.

But it's possible that over the course of the next month, those 80+ teams could keep winning and move up. And considering there are some gaps and that the Valley has a number of teams towards the top, we could end up playing someone fairly well beneath us in the RPI.

He is using current RPI, so any team moving up into that area would then be included as well as teams being dropped if they fall below. I believe there are about 6-8 non-MVC "Home" teams that would qualify currently. You really think we'd be playing someone lower than that number of teams? If so, chances are the BB won't matter and the only way into the Dance is the Valley tourney.

I haven't looked at who has what RPI in a while. I just know that it wasn't overly attractive a few weeks back. A couple of Valley teams are going to feel like they get screwed. And I can't remember if it was the home or away teams or both.

rpiforecast.com's BB projections are now available.

As there has been for awhile, there is a big gap between #4 and #5 among the Road Teams. WSU should stay among that top 4 group. If not, BB doesn't matter, and a Valley tourney win will be required to Dance.

For the Home Teams, the change in RPI is more gradual. Because there are 2 Valley teams in the top 4 of both Home and Road teams, WSU could end up playing the #4 Home team which shouldn't too far below a 50 RPI. Not's that bad, but not that good either.

WSU really wants to stay as the best Valley Road team which would get them a 30-40 range team at worst (I hope).
