You are deflecting; in my work life I learned to be proactive when planning for continued success. Hiring rising stars with a strong loyalty trait is IMO the path to follow.
Just because someone doesn't answer your leading questions the way you were hoping doesn't mean they are deflecting.

Just means you are an idiot.
Stooping to name calling is a signal but I am not certain it speaks to one of us being an idiot. I am inclined to think that you realize your position is tenuous at best so rather than continue a losing argument you chose to revert to name calling.

I don't know if Richey as been contacted by a bigger school and neither do you? What I do know is that in three years at Furman he has achieved a record superior to Marshall's first three years at Winthrop. I also know that he loves living in South Carolina, so money may not be a driver for him unlike other posters think.
Now why don't you post something informative or factual; rather than continuing with drivel.
lol and you do? You seem to be a teeny bit biased in the situation, don't ya think?
It's beyond deplorable at this point. Your stock at Shockernet has fallen.. well.. like the stock market.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Decided to start looking up some stuff since you're starting to throw some serious junk out there.
So you've decided to hammer the point that Richey won more games at Furman his first 3 years than Marshall did in his first 3 at Winthrop and that's supposed to be some sort of validation that Bob Richey is or is gonna be a better coach than Gregg Marshall?
... lmao...
Nevermind the fact that Marshall did something his first 3 seasons that Richey has yet to do - make an NCAA Tournament. In fact, Richey hasn't even won an NIT game in 3 years. Actually, he's only made 1 NIT in those 3 years. And oddly enough, Gregg Marshall is 1-0 vs. St. Bob in head-to-head.
But Bob Richey did win the press conference. So there is that.

I used to think that the worst SN ever was, was the year after Turgeon's S16, when a couple dozen posters joined to ask WTF was wrong with the Shox. It seemed that they just wanted to stir the pot and rub it in to Shox fans that the season had taken a turn to the South.
I think it's worse now. I'm not a fan of Fever, but those getting into arguments with him now are so off base that I'm moving to be solidly behind Fever.
Regardless of the quality of a player or team, there are going to times when some criticism is deserved. No player and no team is ever going to live up to expectations, or even (for them) a below average performance. Sometimes they're going to stink the place up. I don't see a problem with critical comments when that happens. The players and teams that have dismal performances are probably harder on themselves than we are.
But when that happens half the threads turn into "so-and-so stunk it up". Followed by "You're an a-hole and not a true fan because you criticized a player". and "What if they read this and see criticism - they'll be demoralized".
If they can handle what Marshall gives them after a poor performance, what we say out here is nothing.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
1976 nosing out BOBB right now in the Dumbass competition...
You've made a number of ad hominem attacks on me, but have yet to provide any arguments contrary to my opinion that this program's trajectory is flat or declining. Educate me on all the ways "the future will be better tomorrow."
I mean you did post this gem explaining how occasional trips to the NCAAs and 20-win seasons are worthy of the 12th highest paid coach in college basketball. Or that invoking his name will somehow hasten his exit, but I wouldn't count that as an argument.
I will take our Coach every day forever with some of your perceived faults. I’m frustrated like everyone else but talking as though his salary entitles fans to x wins per year and to appear in the tournament every year is not reality based. Especially funny coming from those who aren’t paying it. If you think we are going to plug in someone else that will just start blowing past greggs accomplishments,, you are sadly mistaken. Talking like that hastens your chance of finding out. Yet again we have won 20 games and in conversation all year long. Coach should be in HOF. I hope he doesn’t go anywhere else because you guys can Coach better.
Drivel from Fever continues; I do appreciate that he apparently is beginning to realize his "shoot from the hip" comments are unproductive and do not support his position. I am not surprised that in Fever's world being highly valued by posters on Shockernet is of primary concern - offers insight into why he posts on every topic (>33,000 and Fever is counting). I pray that he actually conducts some due diligence about Bob Richey as he might discover some interesting facts. But I am finished spoon feeding him as I can make better use of my time.

Oh, so now who’s the one going personal and going to post counts? Can’t argue my points now?
Somebody’s starting to lose it...

My goodness, remove the needle from your arm. If HCGM were to leave we would have an abundance of PROVEN suitors due to the money we spend, our tradition, our fanbase, and so on. In no way in hell would we be inclined in to roll the dice and turn over ONE OF THE WINNINGEST PROGRAMS of the past decade to a young coach from the freaking SOUTHERN CONFERENCE who just finished his third season competing against the likes of Wofford, Samford, and The Citadel. Give me a break.
If Robert Richey wants to move up the ladder he can prove his mettle by winning in the A10, Mountain West, etc.
A coach like Richey would have made a lot of sense when we were in the MVC and replacing Smithson...even MT. But in case you haven't noticed, the program has accomplished some things since then.
I like BOBB While I dont agree with him he's not saying anything outlandish. Has Marshall peaked? I think his way peaked when we moved and he's failed to make the adjustment. Its cool to disagree with him. But he's not the one trolling you all right now. You might want to go reread earlier posts where he even said "Mr Dont hire assistants but we better hire these assistants" went off the deep end.
Dear Shocker1976 Prepare for coaches' departure however you want to. Nobody gives a **** about what you did in your job to prepare for change. Because quite frankly Marshall could quit today and we dig up Scott Thompson poor resting soul to coach the team and there's really nothing you or I could do about it.. So congrats on being prepared. Dont shoot your self in the eye.
