CU is the scum of the earth if they went 0-28 it would be better.

Yea, I think that people that would root for Creighton at anytime are just kinda stupid also. :smile-new:

All that matters now is getting to 23 or 24 wins. We have a long way to go. It certainly looks better for us to beat other teams with great records so the more successful other valley teams are in the nonconference the better. Here's hoping that UNI, CU, Indst and the Shocks all have 22 plus wins this season.

It's not very much fun playing a team that is 0-28, even if it is Creighton. Yeah it'd be fun to stomp them, but it's not much of a game to watch. I absolutely love watching a good Shocker team playing a good Creighton team. Now that is basketball.

Yeah, our Coach got out-coached by their Coach.
I beg to differ - we played multiple (ok, we didn't really play - that was the problem) defenses in the second half. If players are not moving their feet, it isn't going to matter what defense you play. I saw man to man, zone, match up, full court press, and a little half-court - our performance was lackluster, but then we did have 21 points that we insisted on playing with.

My 2 cents. In spite of the X's and O's, we let up and then USU got a little confidence and they had the momentum. Once that happens and you miss a few more shots, it's difficult to turn it around. We lost to SIU last year when we didn't deliver the knock out punch.

If you cheer after seeing a Creighton loss posted, does the cheering hurt our RPI?

OK, DSB, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. But just for fun, I'll address your points anyway...

178 posts? OK... what does that have to do with anything? Are you not allowed to participate with 178 posts? Too funny!
Can't read? Well I am a WSU alum, so if I can't read that doesn't reflect too well on any of us.
Did we do anything to stop it? We were sleep walking through the second half coming off a 21 point half time lead. When we finally needed to stop it in the last 3 minutes, we did.
Our coach got out-coached by their coach. Here I go with those pesky facts again..... we were up 21 at half, we won by 7, we lead for 39 of the 40 minutes of the game. Yep, we got out coached.

I don't blame people for cheering seeing the CU loss, but I was personally disappointed because I wanted them to come in undefeated and ranked. A win over them at that point would make it that much sweeter. That's all I'm saying.

I know in my head, it is better for CU to win nonconference games, but my heart has a hard time ever cheering for them. It is a little easier since Altman is gone though.

Frankly Creighton is an excellent basketball program right now, who is very likely to give us everything we want in terms of a seriously difficult basketball game. I welcome them eating a little humble pie before they come here. We definitely need 'em coming with a very strong RPI, but losing an away game to St Josephs isn't going to hurt our RPI or bragging rights much at all in the large scheme of things. Having a loss for scouts to analyze seems more helpful than the small blip in RPI we may take.

Creighton is one-half of a Doug McDermott away from being a mid-tier MVC team. Time will tell if the elder McDermott will be able to recruit well enough to stay among the top-3 in the MVC once his son leaves the next.

It's entirely possible that coach McD didn't think player McD was good enough for Iowa State. I know most people think it was just because he knew his days in Ames were numbered, but who can know for certain?

That said, Doug McD is one heckuva player and CU will be tough to beat this year and especially next. Having a ranked Creighton come to CKA would be great. They still may be.
