Not so good of start this afternoon. Temple losing @ Bowling Green 54-51 with 8 to go and Ill St losing at home to Bethune-Cookman 15-13 early.


Update: Bowling Green did what WSU couldn't and beat Temple 67-64.

Ill St has taken control leading 36-20 at half.

UAB trails Tennessee-Martin 26-22 at halftime. Tennessee-Martin is bad. Like, RPI 300+ bad. UAB needs to sack up in the second half.

Indiana State beating Fairfield 32-20 in the first half. Fairfield is actually pretty good- they'll be Iona's only real competition in the MAAC and are probably a top 75ish team. Would be a nice win for the Sycamores that will continue to look better as the season progresses.

UAB lost at home to a terrible team but Indy State did manage to hold on (after blowing a 25 point lead) to beat a decent Fairfield team by 6.

This was more of a slam on some of the other Valley teams. It would be nice to see any MVC team in recent years have that kind of run in the non-con.

As far a Bama goes, we'd played a poor game against them and were still in the game until the last 5 minutes or so. VCU may be as strong this year as last, but I doubt it and they took Alabama down to the last few minutes at Alabama. What is in Bama favor is that they are winning, good game or bad. We'll see if this continues. Yup, I think the polls will have them very high. Sometimes a person will think a team is going to be great and they're disappointed. This is the opposite and I may very well be totally wrong.
