Not a true OSU fan. OSU fans don't like Shockers, Shockers don't like OSU. OSU fans, players and coaches when they came to Stephenson Stadium were always very rude and obnoxious.
The very worst experiences I've ever had with fans was at SMS games.
In HCMT's last year at the old SMS crib - Some drunk started cursing at my then 13 yr old daughter. Luckily, one of the SMS fans alerted security of the situation and they hauled his drunk arse out. Several of their fans apologized.
The other game that Fred - Ron and Cle made the terrific comeback in was by far the worst. I had a great single seat at center court. SMS took a pretty big lead and their fans were yelling in my ear and getting in my space - chanting over rated - they were pissed when we made the comeback but continued to heckle.
The walk to the car was filled with rabid SMS fans cursing and talking about how they got screwed. I just smiled and kept walking.
People are passionate about their sports teams. Some of them get out of control. It's too bad but it's just part of it.

Until we emptied our bench up 10 and I turned around and he was gone......thank God. So annoying.

Keep in mind that the Oklahoma Big 12 teams were the first 2 on board with agreeing to play WSU because the Kansas Big 12 teams won't. I like the idea of playing the Oklahoma teams, but they may have rushed the decision of agreeing to play multiple games against WSU without really considering that at some point someones feelings might get hurt. I went to the Intrust game against osu and the game 2 years ago down in Stillwater. I never witnessed any negativity from the osu fans or wsu fans. Playing them seems like a non-toxic idea thus far

Does WSU have annoying fans? Sure. What fanbase doesn't?
Speaking of Doc's experience in KC, at that same event, I had the misfortune of being around a certain longtime Shocker student section fan that you all know and don't love. I swear to God that he wouldn't shut up. It was almost like he was talking to himself. I asked our ticket office staff whose @$$ I could kick for putting dude behind me.
When Doc and I were in Indianapolis for 2017 NCAA, there was another Shocker fan sitting near us, again who someone of you all might know if I said the name, who was totally annoying. WSU never committed a foul in her eyes. Look, I get rooting for the Shockers, but if the call legitimately needs to go against the Shockers, don't ***** about it every single time. Also, during halftime of the Dayton game, she kept whining about how her family told her that the TV guys were mentioning Scooch (stud Dayton player) a lot. "Talk about the Shockers too!" was her gist. By this point, I was annoyed and kinda snapped at her. "Dude has FIFTEEN points at half! Of course they are going to talk about him a lot! Shut up!" Doc and I noticed that she found different seats for the Kentucky game two days later.
So...can WSU fans be annoying? Yes. Toxic/Abusive/Over-The-Top? I have never seen that.78-65

I nearly witnessed an altercation at the OU game in OKC last year. Shocker fans near us (and around the arena) continued to stand and clap (as is our tradition in CKA) after we scored. OU fans sat down but didn't like that some WSU fans didn't. In that case, with us all being spread out in the arena, rather than packed together, AND not being at home, I think we all should have also sat down. But that's just me.

I attend a lot of games as an out of town fan and I am always paranoid. Most fans like most people are mostly rational -even if the get a bit rowdy. Good natured smack talk and rivalries are part and parcel of enjoying the experience.
But all it takes is one jack wagon to ruin your night/week/life.
On a personal note, my favorite after-game-butthurt was when Billy Tubbs swore he would never return to Wichita after his TCU team was "taunted mercilessly" during a Cessna classic game (a game in which TCU wan't even playing against the shocks (they lost to VCU), bwahahahaha).
