Sure, if he had played every game all year like he played today I think we would all only be slightly disappointed from preseason expectations but I just don’t know if he’s gonna be able to ever fully turn himself back into the player he was his freshman and sophomore year. And I don’t think he’s willing to take a backseat role to Porter and council

I think that’s how he sees it.

It would only improve his game if he let their talents shine too.

Hopefully, someone on the coaching staff is telling him that.

I hope you transfer from being a fan. Tyson is the one guy turned on all game - maybe you are not at games, but there are certain aspects you can’t capture from TV. He organizes, communicates, and knows what the heck we are trying to do. With his usage he likely isn’t going to be perfect, but any rational fan takes that performance to the bank.

This season isn’t what fans want, but it is more about the lack of any help. Coach finally acknowledged (via lack of second half substitutions) that this team only has six viable D1 ready players. I am not writing off guys outside of the top six, but none of them help you win games.

Sure seemed like more than that to me. He makes some horrible passes sometimes. We played our best basketball today when he wasn't running the point.

You guys come up with this dumb theory 30 minutes after a game in which Tyson consistently set hard screens and cut hard off the ball to open up lanes for Ricky and Craig…

Star players really struggle when the other pieces aren’t ready to contribute. Ron had a hell of time when Fred and others got hurt - and it was against much lower competition. McDuffie was endlessly smacked around on this fan board (BTW - McDuffie was one of the last guys to stick it out with FHCGM and Tyson was mad he got forced out).

As coach IB shortens the bench and guys like Ricky, Kenny, and Craig evolve into consistent threats - Tyson plays better. It is amazing how that all works together? This crap isn’t rocket science.

Our fan base is a bunch of spoiled brats. We don’t deserve Tyson.

Did you not read the post just before when I said this was his best game of the season??

All my post was reflecting on was can he continue to evolve into the role he played today going forward.

Effort is never questioned with TE. It’s just needs to be channeled in the right way for that PotY version to come out.

                    • proshox I get it you have a different take on Tyson than most of the rest of us. Don't see the need to degrade other SNers in the process though.

Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

                        • still a lapse in BB IQ from time to time....today's example...1 min to play, trip dribble, slide and gets trapped,, have 2 TO remaining and forces a pass to KP instead of calling TO...that leads to 2 points on other end....

He's one of those guys who shows up during wins and moral victories.

                            • Tyson has one big issue - the disease of Me, as Mark Adams would say. Is he good? Yes. He should not be running a team, however. He is a role player, and a very good one when he plays his role.

I am suggesting that we signed up for a lot more variability in outcomes when we moved to the American. Every basketball analyst understood that from day of the announcement, but our fans couldn’t grasp the trade-offs. Add-in program crushing scandal and I thing we should find a way to support guys that bust their asses more than most of can imagine. Even if this season is not what we hoped it would be when it started (I was skeptical from the start based on the overall roster composition).
