Not completely out of left field. If both UC snd TU go 1-1 and UH loses 2...

        1. Tulsa
        2. UC
        3. UH
        4. WSU

        Tulsa has @Temple and wsu
Cincy has @USF and vs Temple
Houston has @UCONN and vs Memphis
We have @Memphis and vs Tulsa

Tulsa is not going to beat WSU in the final game of the season or the conference tournament. They got severely lucky to beat us at their place. Congrats to them. It won't happen again.

That’s great and all but the question was who is gonna win the conference tournament, not the regular season. Thanks to unbalanced scheduling, Tulsa has had the fortune of fattening up on a lot of extra wins.

Its laughable that somebody thinks that team is going through Houston, Cincinnati, and/or WSU in 3 days. Nope.

Im just looking for any scenario that we don't play UH till the finals. Assuming we get that far. Playing them on Saturday would help determine if you're going to buy an all-session pass or just a 2 day pass. Out of the top three teams, they are far and away better than Tulsa and Cincinnati

Its all about the matchups and we do not match up at all with Houston. Too big, too physical and they have 3 or 4 guys that can get their own shot

While the unbalanced schedule is necessary in our conference, why is it never mentioned by the national media? I don't think I have heard it mentioned one time, as being probably the sole reason Tulsa is on top of the conference.

Agreed. But at the same time, after having watched them twice against the Shox, I am baffled how they lost 4 games. They have just looked so dominant when we have played them. I guess this is all karma from the drubbing we gave them on their first conference trip to the Roundhouse in 2018. At least they don't have "man-bun" anymore.

UH could easily be undefeated in conference. Lost by 2 at Tulsa and Cincy. By 1 at Memphis and SMU. Their defense never takes a play off and it seems like they send 10 guys to the boards. They remind me a lot of some Izzo's Spartan teams. Tough as hell and built solely for March.

We most likely get them in the semis. If we don't put 2 halves together like the second half of SMU, its not a close game

To avoid the play-n, we must beat Tulsa and Memphis must lose? What if Memphis and us both lose?

If we can't beat Tulsa, and Houston can't beat Memphis, it does not matter....Tulsa is awful...Frank Haith is awful....

There is a lot of doom and gloom right now (rightfully so) but, according to bball.notnothing's bracket projection tool, the most realistic situation is Cincy being the 1 seed and us being either the 4 or the 5. Almost every situation ends with Cincy as the 1 seed and that is way better than us having to play Houston. (We would have to beat either UCONN or Memphis to get in that situation).

Our path to the 4 seed: WIN and Memphis lose to Houston.

That would create a 3-way tie between Cincy, Houston, and Tulsa. Which would result in 1. Cincy 2. Houston 3. Tulsa due to a round-robin record between the three teams.

The Shockers would be the No. 4 seed only if Memphis loses at Houston and the No. 5 seed automatically if Memphis wins at Houston.

Nice article! I like our chances a lot more with Cincy as the 1 compared to Houston.

What if we lose to Tulsa, Houston beats Memphis and Ugone and SMU both win?

4 way tie for 4. Both us and SMU would be 3-1 against that group of 4. We win the tiebreaker right?

UH and Cincy on the other half of the draw. We’d get SMU Tulane winner in the quarters and Tulsa v 89 winner, some combo of Temple, USF UCF & ECU.

UH Cincy Memphis Ugone all on the other half.

                                Amirite?
