I appreciate the Nike Jumpman brand, but what is it that is being promoted? Nike and Jordan get enough publicity and riding their coattails is cool, but I would rather see something that promotes Wichita State. The black road unis are part of WSU identity. The grays should be alternates only.

I'm with my old buddy KC. Black on the road is WSU basketball. Did Nike get this idea from Warren Armstrong (the president, not the player)?

On the other hand, maybe they'll be called for fewer fouls in the kinder, gentler grays, and if they win enough I'll put up with it. But "put up with it" is definitely the phrase -- bring back the black!

Light gray does suck. And I agree with Royal, Sub, et al. They are not distinguishable at all against a white uniform if that is the actual one for use. No way possible that'll work. A darker gray like what TMH said would be alright.

No black? Not the best idea in the world..

        ... No really, deuces.

The following comment is not a joke, honest:

The grey jerseys are really trending in the BCS. You hardly see any mid-majors in them. Actually (and I'm not saying there aren't, but), I can't think of any other mid-majors wearing them. This could actually help us in the way of passing the "eye test." Seriously.

On a personal note, I love the change. Looks awesome in my opinion. What I'd really love is to see us get one of those designs with, like, 85% transparency on the backs of the jerseys. Those are so sweet. Maybe some wheat patterns. That would be awesome.

I'm so color-blind, I can't tell the difference between the white and the gray. They really need to have the black uni's. I don't care what is trendy, and what isn't.

Right, just like 18-22 year old kids don't care what a fan thinks the colors of the uniforms need to be. If the kids like them then who cares? Not saying you specifically but some who want WSU basketball to get better and better need to let go of things like Intrust Bank Arena and color of Uniforms.

I understand your thoughts on this, because ultimately only the players need to 'care' about how they look when you boil it down. However, losing the black ones is a bit disappointing. When they replaced the old ones a few years ago (I think the new versions debuted at the tourney in KC) I was very impressed with the way they re-designed them. Being in black to me would put me in a more serious 'all business' mode as a player, but of course, I'm not a player. Personal preference I guess. The grey is fine and I have no problem with it, but why get rid of the black?

Based on what Paul Suellentrop has described it seems to me the question is not do your prefer the Gray vs the Black because the alleged "grey" uniform Paul posted in his article will not replace the Black as a road uniform. It is simply to close to white as shown in the photo. The question is do you prefer the Yellow over the Black as a road unform.

If I'm an opposing coach you will not be wearing those very light gray uniforms in my house unless you want to pay for the privilege.

IF we do not have Black then we have three home uniforms (white, light gray and yellow) and one set of road uniforms (yellow).

I'd much rather they replaced the white with the light gray than the black. If they're replacing the black, which is a poor choice in my opinion, than they should be dark as has been discussed. If they're as light as the look.... :disgust:

It's good to see that fashion is such a high priority.

Butler has gray jerseys as well. But, you are right there are almost no mid-majors with gray jerseys.

The light gray sucks ... You can hardly tell its gray ... Dark gray would have been much better.

If Butler is wearing gray in those photos, total FAIL
