Wichita State's New Gray Uniforms

I can't believe this is such a topic amongst fans.

What it boils down to is the players love them and want to wear them. That's what should matter most, players liking what they have to play ball in. They are Nike Jumpman uniforms and recruits actually pay attention to that type of stuff. Basketball players for the most part love Nike and having them be Jumpman makes it that much better.

Gray is the "fashion trend" going on right now and what's "in" so let the players have their fun with it. On top of that, coach chose them so might as well respect the decision. Complaining about it does nothing and calling into the coaches show to complain certainly isn't any better.

Besides, the players have done extremely well in the grey's thus far. For the record, I like the unis and am not bothered by it at all. True, the white/grey combo on a basketball court is hard to see at times especially if you're watching it on Cox 22. So if we're going to complain, let's send them over to Cox.

I think most here would agree with you, but it's like they took a good thing and over did it. I like the grey uniforms, but not at the expense of the black road jerseys. I just wish they would have mixed the grey in with the White, Black and Yellow.

There's many fan bases around the country not liking gray. Players like it so that's what matters. I think the dark gray with yellow lettering would look fantastic.

First of all I can't believe you can't believe this is such a topic among fans. We've made topics of a lot less meaningful items than this. You really are not giving the fans proper credit here.

When you say "the players" are you referring to players in general or to Shocker players. I know 3G likes the greys, but I don't think I have heard any of the players comment on them one way or the other, although they may have.

@wu_shizzle has it right though. There is only a very small minority of Shocker fans who hate he greys. The consensus of opinion based on what I have read seems to be don't eliminate the road black uniforms so you can have the light grey uniforms. If they want the light grey wear them at home, continue to use a black uniform as the primary road uniform and have the yellow available as a change of pace both at home and on the road. For the most part, the general opinion is not anti-light grey. It is anti-getting rid of the black. Maybe I am missing the point of the discussion.

That is a point. I don't like the way the gray looks on TV. K-State has them too. I miss the black.

To sum it up, I think WSU did mess up the jersey situation this year. Why do away with black? They wear those non-updated yellow rags once a year that look god awful. lol.. What should of happened was, since they elected to one go with 3 jersey colors instead of 4 or 5 like some schools is: Do away with those god awful looking, non-updated yellow rags that only get worn once a year or so. Keep the White and Black jersey, you gotta have black, it's one of WSU's main colors and is mentioned in the alma mater. SO. Yellow is out. White at home, wear gray at home too whenever they like, Black is for the rode, and the gray can even sub out the black whenever on the rode also. The scheme this year just makes no sense.. Maybe it's just this senior class? I like all these wins, but if the seniors have any say as to why they still wear those god awful looking, non-updated yellow rags for 1 or 2 games and black is just gone, then next year needs to hurry up and get here so we all have at least 1 less thing to complain about.
