It replaces the RPI .. which means they will use it primarily to bracket a teams opponents to create a team sheet and gauge how good wins and losses are. The teams actual ranking matters less.

Coaches poll is probably the most meaningless poll in all of college basketball. Nobody ever uses it. It's pretty much just fluff garbage, gotta make sure we work in the buddy system crap.
