I do feel for these teams not getting a better schedule, but Liberty’s best win is Akron (70 Net) and Duquesne best win is Indiana State. Seriously! They will have a chance to make some hay in the A10 if they are up to the challenge.

Dayton on the other hand has a close loss in Lawrence, and has beaten St. Mary’s, Colorado, Georgia, and Va Tech. Pretty good!

Correction. Dayton lost by 2 to Colorado.

Other correction: Dayton has a close loss to KU in Maui.

For those who care about Lunardi at this time of year, that matches up nicely with his #6 seed projection (#21 through #24).

By the way, speaking of computer metrics, Pomeroy has Dayton at #10 in his overall rankings (#3 on offense, although just #65 on D).

It's been 10 days since then the original posting by Reaper. Overall, the American is trending in the right direction! We've seen positive movement on the NET rankings for 3/4 of the conference. Only Tulsa and Tulane moved backwards, and it seems Tulsa moved moreso because of other teams around them.

Overall,

• 1/4 in the top 50!!!
• 2/3 in the top 100!!
• 5/6 in the top 150!
• 11 in the top 200; All teams in the top 250
• We still have more chances to move the conference up as whole with the SEC/AAC challenge games coming up.

There are many Ranking services with different algorithms and who emphasize different metrics. All of them have strengths and weaknesses. Wouldn’t it be better to use a composite of all the rankings to determine the best predictor of rankings?
