Standouts
Teddy Buckets - all around game
Chance Moore - nice shooting touch
Dexter Dennis - decent shot and jumped out of the gym during warm ups
Samaje Haynes-Jones hit a few threes
Post play was not very good
Markis McDuffie forced a lot of shots
McDuffie still doesn't look like the summer 16 version
Somewhat discouraging to hear. Hopefully coach can help him. Maybe McDuff feels a lot of pressure being the "leader" so to speak this year. And hopefully coach can get him to relax and just go play ball.
Also...so hoping Teddy Allen with a year under his belt in D-1 gets cleared. Come on with it already NCAA.

McDuffie looks the same as he always has. A guy that can get buckets in transition, on out-backs, and from open jumpers. He has never had the handles or quickness to create his own shot.
-AM looks like he could lose a game of 1 on 0. He missed a few wide open looks at the rim that he should have hit. I was not impressed.
- Udeze looks like our best big. Didn’t look like he could do much offensively but he was definitely cleaning up the glass. Does not look like a freshman at all.
- Jamie was a bit unimpressive. Very long but a bit sloppy.
- Rod was just kind of there. Didn’t stand out in any way to me, good or bad.
- For better or worse, McDuffie is who he has always been.
- Dexter was impressive. Very active and made an impact while on the floor.
- Erik was active and engaged but couldn’t hit a shot to save his life. I know he has more to give so I’m not too worried about him.
- Chance Moore caught fire from 3. If he can consistently do that all season there is no way he doesn’t get minutes. I don’t know how tall he officially is but he seems to have good size. When he bulks up he is going to be a problem.
- Teddy has an ugly game but dammit that ball goes in the hole. He has a lot of confidence which will both be a good and bad thing throughout the course of whatever season he becomes eligible in.
- SHJ makes me cringe. He throws up a lot of bricks and does a lot of dribbling without really going anywhere; but on a positive note he can knock down shots sometimes.
- Burton was kind of like Rod Brown in that he was just kind of there.
If if we had a real game today and Teddy was not eligible my starters from seeing this limited action would be Udeze, McDuffie, Dennis, Moore, and SHJ.
AM once again had a hard time receiving the pass into the post. It’s only a scrimmage but we are gonna need some inside threat this year. I just don’t know where that is gonna come from. The Shox may have to spread the floor with 4 guards.
1. We need Allen this year.
2. If SHJ gets any meaningful minutes this year, we’re f***ed.
3. Dennis was a highlight reel during warmups.
4. Is MM really 218 lbs?
I never put too much into scrimmage evaluations. Everybody knows what everybody else is doing.
Anyway, here's what I think.
DD will be as advertised.
SHJ can score but I don't think he can run the team.
Markis still pressing but looked much better physically.
AM will be your starting 5.
CM's all around game is better than some indicated. Kid is a shooter.
ES was solid. The shots will go in.
MU is a banger and a rebounder. Don't look for points.
Same for RB.
Expected more from JE. I thought he might be favoring a leg in warmups.
JB probably a year away.
IPBC??? Shaq version 2? At least he wasn't riding a bike.
I hope RT is our true point guard that can run a bb team.
We would be much, much better with TA on the floor.
Of course, I could be proven dead ass wrong in 24 days.
We definitely need Teddy Allen this year. He’s so crafty. I want to believe SHJ can take the lead at the 1 but I went away feeling Burton did a better job managing and didn’t take as many illadvised shots. Chance was fun to watch, and what a great block he had. Rough looking but it seems like we’ll be able to defend the perimeter better this year.
Look forward to seeing Torres and Poor Bear. Liked it being just a scrimmage. Wonder what recruits prefer?
The points about Burton are fair. His defense probably explains my thought of SHJ dribbling without going anywhere. It’s also worth noting that he ran the point with Ricky out and he hit the game winning layup.

Your thoughts on SHJ are akin to celebrities on Trump.
