"Gonzaga leaps Kansas; Duke, UNC fall in Andy Katz' Power 36 rankings (Nov. 27)" - NCAA.COM

    BY ANDY KATZ | CORRESPONDENT
    NOVEMBER 27, 2018

There is a new No. 1, but probably not a consensus. The debate over Gonzaga vs. Kansas is legitimate. The Zags beat the previous No. 1 Duke on a neutral court in Maui. Gonzaga was/is a man-down with Killian Tillie out for the foreseeable future. The Zags were the dominant team for most of the game.

    25. UCF (27): The best news for the Knights was Tacko Fall leading them in scoring (20) and boards (nine) in a win over Northern Kentucky. If Fall can be a dominant player on most nights, then UCF will win the AAC. Alabama and at Missouri are the next two on the docket to test this club.

    30. Houston (36): The Cougars passed their first test of the season with a convincing road win at BYU. Oregon is the second roadblock to hurdle this weekend. This team will continue to grow on everyone as it makes a case for the top spot in the AAC.

Since we didn’t play Virginia Tech or Purdue, I’m gonna put their interest level at zero.

They shouldn’t even be in the Top 5.

I thought they were at #2 because Addias put them there the past decade or two.

Quick like a bunny, of the AAC teams, how many are under water on their win-loss record?

KU a bit like Gonzaga now because they continually win their not so great conference, however it puts a floor under them in terms of national ranking. By the time WSU left the MVC, WSU was building a similar floor. WSU gave that up by moving to the AAC.

I don't know about this "MVC Floor" .. but there was definitely a ceiling there ...

There was a floor and a ceiling, but with a little luck Marshall could have broken through the ceiling in time.

We're ranked 108th in the nation! I know we're all frustrated and pissed about this year's team but take the high road, we haven't lost to a losing team this year and the combined record of the teams we lost to is 70 wins 27 losses.

I definitely think lost in the shuffle is how hard of a schedule we've played. According to KenPom it's the 56th toughest schedule. Only the 2013 team had a tougher total SOS at 51st, but remember that's propped up by the NCAA tournament run that included 4 top 11 teams.
