  • You never know now the year end evals are going to shake out. I'm thinking at least one player is gone and maybe up to three. I have no doubts that HCGM will be brutally honest with his players and what he expects from them. Who stays and doesn't will dictate what additional players he may sign. If he thinks we need immediate at that position he may go JUCO unless we have our eyes on a freshman stud at that position.

This is why Marshall get paid the big bucks, which I think is going to get even bigger, to guide and grow our program.

Really, up to 3? Are you including walk-ons?

Because if not, we are returning 8 scholarship players from last year's team. Of that group, 5 are seniors, all of whom see significant playing time, so it seem unlikely that any of them would leave.

Are you really saying that you believe that every single non-senior scholarship player might leave the program?

We return non seniors, Williams, Orukpe, Richardson and Hamilton. One seems to be gone for sure. I don't see DWill leaving and Orukpe isn't going anywhere. Richardson is the only question mark at this time.

I was assuming Hamilton as already off the team, so if you include him in makes 3 more reasonable, although I'm with you and see only two as being all the likely (and I'm not convinced it will be more than Hamilton).

I'm really only expecting one more (Hamilton).

We have 9 returning scholarship players, 5 are seniors and with the exception of EO I think there might be reason for any of the underclassmen to leave. Is a certain junior to be PG willing to spend his career as a backup? The two red-shirt sophomores? I'm thinking at least one of them is gone.

Dwill should get half the playing time (or close to it) at point guard next year and be the starter as a senior, so it doesn't seem like a major problem.

                • Here is my guess. For 2012-13, we probably will have:
PG: Williams (SR), Cotton (SO), Jones (JR)*
                  SG: Wessel (SO), JUCO
SF: Richardson (JR), JUCO, Vautravers (JR)*
PF: White (SO), Ellis (FR) and/or Thurman (FR), Walker (SR)*
C: Orukpe (SR), Hall (SR), JUCO

                  * = walk-on

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

                  • I dont think it will look anything like that. According to the Eagle Sunday Jones wasn't even listed anymore

                    • Dwill isn't going anywhere and the coach doesn't want him to. Some things just get dreamed up on this board.

                      • Has anyone checked to see if Tyrone Shoelace and his ankle breakin' crossover dribble has any eligiblility left ?

                          Walk-ons don't usually matter.

                            • It has been said that the only way to stop Tyrone's famous invention of the crossover dribble is to tie his shoelaces together which causes him to instead double-dribble? Thus, maybe that is why Double Dribble also calls himself---- Tyrone Shoelace? I'm so confused.

Richardson is a question. If Ellis is on the team he won't be coming off the bench. Neither will Hall or EO. I think Wessel is a SF. I feel confident that Williams, Wessel, White, Hall, and Orukpe will be on the team. No reason to believe Cotton will leave, but he will likely be third string this year. It's hard to know if he'll be around. After that it's all huge questions.
