  • Roster Next Year

    Should look something like this:

    Joe Ragland- Sr. PG
    Toure' Murry- Sr. SG
    David Kyles- Sr. SG
    Ben Smith- Sr. SG
    *Charles Boozer- Sr. SG
    Garrett Stutz- Sr. C
    Demetric Williams- Jr. PG
    Ehimen Orupke- Jr. C
    Carl Hall- Jr. PF
    Jake White- Fr. SF
    Tekele Cotton- Fr. PG
    Evan Wessel- Fr. G
    Ron Baker- FR. G
    Ede Egharevba- Fr. F

*Not sure. If he were to join the squad, he would most likely be a walk-on. with that said, I definitely see Charles as a minute grabber.

Now, I may be wrong, but I think there is still a scholarship available for next season.

I left out walk-ons from this year because who knows how many or who will be back.

Question- I was on goshockers and there was a Trey Jones listed as a walk-on, yet I don't remember seeing him on the team. Did he decide to go to another school or something?

Tyler Richardson will be a SO. SG.

We are looking to sign one more.

I don't see Boozer doing much of anything.

I thought Jones redshirted. But I could have missed something.

FIXED. And I think you're right about TJ.

Your list of personnel may be accurate. That would leave 2 scholarships for the spring period. Boozer might need more than one asterisk.

Edit: That was written before you added Richardson to your list. 1 additional scholarship player looks like a lock. 2 is a possibility.

Positions is another matter. Jake White is probably a PF only. My guess is that Wessel, Smith, and possibly Murry end up at the SF spot.

If Kyles and DWill can take SG, and Dwill/Cotton can be the backup(s) at PG, that would free up Murry to play SF, which seems like a real good spot for his skillset. That leaves Smith as a 6th man - tough 6th man! That also seems to give Wessel a possible RS year. Wessel looks like a player who could contribute 4 years, so a RS year could be a good investment of a scholly.

Can someone please give me a brief synopsis of what happened to Kenny Mannigault and Jerome Hamilton? I thought these guys were going to be gangbusters for this team and am sorry to see them no longer on the team.

Both were good kids who got through the first 10 years playing ball based strictly on aathletic ability. They chose not to put in the work in the weight room, practice, or the classroom.

And now we're left with a big hole in our distribution of scholarships.

Which, unless the underclassmen really step up can force you to the JUCO ranks to fill those holes.

We collected some solid hits with Joe and Ben and, hopefully, that will also be he case with Carl.

Generally, I would prefer to build the program with 4 year players, but you do what you have to do.

Wow. No sophomore class really. We need a huge recruiting year next year!

Just about. Tyler Richardson will be a redshirt sophomore.

Still no doubt about it, we have a hole in the donut in that class.

Hard to predict if Tyler will become a contributor or not.

Who knows, but we might see a JC or two in the class of '12 because of it to even out the classes a bit. However, there are a number of '12 HS kids in the area...

We're really thin in the paint next year. Who knows if Orupke will even be able to give us 10 productive minutes a game.

I'm not worried. Stutz, Hall, Ehimen and White sound good to me.

4 guys, 1 that has somewhat proven himself, just doesn't sound like enough ammo for me. I doubt Orupke even gives us anything worth while next year.

If you need a 6'8 wrecking ball to run into people for 2 to 3 minutes a game Josh Walker can do that. :D
