What in the world is going on here? Why would we have such venom for k-state, I don't see anything that is so necessarily appauling about the university. Team colors, equestrian, what is this really about? I really don't see anything worth hating on ksu or ku for, what's the point. If there is a real underlying point just make it and be done.

But why am I talking football with a idiot like you whose school gave up on football thanks to the great Lou Perkins.

Now, baseball... Its a nice little niche sport for a school like WSU. Bigger metropolitan area. Lots of non-student fans who can hang out for a game without traveling to/from distant cities. Better yet, very little investment required, at least in the past. I mean how many schollies are allowed? Thats a pretty good indication how important the sport is. BTW, no one really cares much about KSU baseball. Not much coverage. But we still kicked WSUs ass! hahaha

BTW, I may go to the OSU game tomorrow. Get in for 5 bucks and maybe catch one of the dozen or so balls hit over the wall by OSU.

Equestrian is a nice niche sport for KSU. Wouldn't expect you shockes to understand, it is a sport generally reserved for the elite. Now if we had a monster truck team, you all would get it.

Now, I'm sure an idiot like you doesn't have a clue what universities are really for, but KSU has much to be proud. Im sure you dont want to debate that issue, you should stick to baseball.

Now, RickyBooby, stereotypes? You do know that WSU can boast that one alumni was involved in flying some airplanes into some buildings back on 9-11-2001. Im sure he was the only Jihady to go to Hillside High.
      Nerd -

You are seriously close to jeopardizing your rights to posting on here. Read the guidelines again. Remember you are a guest in another's house. You're quickly overusing your welcome.

      A couple of things:
1.) Kitten State has and will always be a 'ride on the coat tails of the Big 12' athletic program. That will never change.
2.) No one cares about KSU baseball, but you are here still touting over a couple of unheard of wins over WSU.
3.) There is no coverage of Kitten State baseball because you need a tv station to broadcast such information. TV towers and technology in general are not common in Cowpattyville.
4.) If you do go to the game tomorrow, we thank you for your monetary support of Wichita State University. Please come back again.
5.) Much like Goddard Kitten, it has become rather apparent that Kitten fans are very defensive and deeply attached to the major sport of Brokeback Mountain horseback riding. I was always thought Kitten State fans and the illustrious horse mounty program was just a metaphor.. but apparently not. ROFL!!
6.) Kitten State University has two universal themed truths:
a.) They boast the biggest bandwagon fan contingent in the world.
b.) They are one of the few fanbases around that likes to think that themselves are about 100 times more relevant than they actually are. The Hickville/AggieTech/Littleman Syndrome, as it's commonly called, has and always will be a stranglehold on that farming college.

As I put this one away, I'm always baffled how a fan of AggieTech U. can speak so lowly on WSU, but yet a couple of Purple Warriors care enough to lurk around the said 'inferior' fan site and actually care what WSU fans have to think. That one never ceases to amaze me.

      Giddy up.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

William, when you have a couple of Feminine-color draped Kitties that bump week-old threads on a VISITING message board, responses and counterattacks are a given.

Why don't we talk about engineering school research dollars, 'nerd. Are you aware of who the National Science Foundations is, and what their function entails? How about this:

FY 2007 (most recent FY avail.) Total Engineering R&D Expenditures:

            Little Brother WSU- $35,218,000
            Engineering Powerhouse KSU- $19,450,000
            Snob Hill KU- $18,401,000

Well look at that... if you combine the engieering school R&D of K-Suck AND KU, you just barely surpass WSU's total. Congrats!

What now? I'm begging you to go further with this. I'll send you back to you fluorescent-illuminated, cubicle utopia with your tail between your legs and a new appreciation for hard numbers.

Now run along, the online Dungeons and Dragons tournament is missing one of it's prime participants.

William, I graduated from both KU and WSU. I saw the contributions KU made in the Big XII, and I've seen the little coat-tail hanging contributions the Wildcats have made. Additionally, being raised in Wichita I've long heard the chest thumping coming from the Purps. In my opinion, K-State doesn't come close to KU's success in athletics in the Big XII, and their insults against WSU always point to the MoVal as a second rate hack conference.
I don't care for the MoVal either, but if the Shox and KSU switched conferences, the Shox would do a heck of a lot more in the Big XII than KSU, and KSU after 4-5 years would be similar to a Drake in the MoVal.
As I've written earlier, KU adds a lot of prestige to the Big XII, WSU gives most if not all of the prestige to the MoVal, and the Big XII gives K-State its ONLY prestige.
Their attempt at insults on Shockernet or the Eagle will be met with the truth. K-State should be dropped from the Big XII. I personally wish Arkansas would take their place and also invite the Shox for baseball only. Other than that, I'm sure K-State is a wonderful place --- to watch grass grow. :cowbell:

                  KSU - 0

Alright I'll bite and play devils advocate, I can't believe I'm doing this but in the spirit of intellectual honesty here goes.

                    1. ksu has contributed greatly to the big12 in football, the winningest team in league history unitl the Ron Prince experiment. ksu has become very competitive in basketball since Huggins and Martin came to town, Baseball is on the upswing with Brad Hill. Your blathering about their lack of successes just aren't true. If you want to find schools that don't compete very well in that conference over its brief history take a look at Iowa st. Baylor, and Colorado.

                    2. Ding Ding Ding, your second statement says it all, you don't like them. Thats fine but your dislike doesn't give credence to all your other arguments.

                    3. Switching conferences- I don't believe the shocker basketball team would fare to well. The baseball team would be competitive and finish top 5 consistently but you could say goodbye to long strings of 40 win seasons and most likely play in the postseason 40% of the time instead of 98%

Basically all your bluster comes down to one thing: You don't likem, thats fine but the rest of your nonsense makes the rest of us look like sour grape, whiney, 12 year olds when in actuality we are proud fans of Wichita State watching our school play the cards it has been dealt to the best of its ability. I don't need to denigrate a neighboring school in some sort of effort to prop up my university, my university is just fine.

Very, very, very well said. Whiny kids get teased simply because their reaction is usually so entertaining. Not saying that's a good thing but it's been happening forever. WSU fans, as seen in this thread, are the whiny kids of the Kansas "Big Three".

                          1. the "winningest" team in league (assuming you mean Big XII) history was based on the downfall of the UNL program, and a terribly weak north division. KU also struggled. The cats will soon find themselves at the bottom of the heap as normal. I feel badly for their coach. He shouldn't have come back. Martin is a nutcase, Huggins is not the kind of coach I'd want at WSU. They do have a pretty decent VB team though. I'll give them credit there.
                          2. I don't care for them. Someone needs to knock them off their Big XII horse. It's not like they've earned to saddle up on the thing.
                          3. We need to change conferences. The Big XII would greatly help with recruiting, attendance, and building the program even stronger. I think we'd be stronger - top three team.
                          4. I don't believe in "Playing your cards". I believe in making the deck. Don't be a victim William. The Shox are better than the credit you give them.

                            William,

I’m actually amazed you can’t comprehend what’s going on here. The source of animosity towards ksu fans comes down to trash like Goddard/BCS/dax. They’ll rub it in your face at the drop of a hat. They have no respect for anything associated with WSU or Wichita in general. And this sentiment is strong and prevailing among kitty fans – don’t believe me just peruse their message board. Maybe you just don’t get it – they think everything about WSU is low rate. They look at us as a glorified JUCO, whether it’s academics or athletics. Anything we have ever accomplished, including national championships and recent Sweet 16 was the result of playing in a weak conference. They’ll even tell you a KSU diploma carries far more weight. That smug attitude is pretty tough to accept when you take a look at the average k-state fan wondering about. Not to say a WSU fan is any better than KSU fan or KU fan but that they’re just unimpressive when you know them.

I guess you are able to just sit back and ignore it or brush it off. You might view it as idiots trolling internet messages boards but if you take a step back I think you’ll find this attitude is far more widespread than you might think. We are all proud fans of our school and community and human nature dictates that most of us will not accept unfounded arrogance thrown in our face.
