Just got back from the game. This was one of the most uninspired teams i've seen.I thought last years ORU game was bad.We looked cold and like we wanted to go home.It can only get better.Good thing about baseball is that you don't have to wait long to get the bad taste out of your mouth.A series win over the Waves will go a long way towards washing this one away.

I guess I'm use to Gene reloading each year with new guys, redshirts, and upperclassmen who are just primed to take advantage of the opportunity to play. I figured this year wouldn't be any different. I knew there would be some rough spots, but I figured they would at least compete. I was wrong on all accounts.
No need to apologize. Before the season started, I said at the 12 game mark we would be 7-5, I'm one game off and we are 6-6. I do hope when we get into Valley play we can make up some games and meet the 40 win mark. This is possible because the Valley stinks, (but so do we thus far) so I don't know what to think about that.

It is still early. How's that for a little positivity on my end?
Thats a nice post KC. Have you had to much Jobo juice tonight? :good:

Home now and that sucked. tru, I couldn't say it better myself. They looked very uninspired. That drop by Jones was just very pathetic. Before that he was the one trying to get the team up. After that, it was just quiet between innings.

It just sucked. I went to DD afterwards and they looked like they had been cleaned out! That sucked too.

What drop? Are you speaking of the one that he did not see off the bat. Granted it was an easy play, but he raised his hands as soon as it left the bat to say he didn't see it. I think "pathetic" is a little strong, it isn't as if he was under it and let it fall out of his glove. He doesn't ever miss those, I think he just couldn't see if off the bat. The KU radio announcer even defended it saying that right field at that time is difficult because it can get lost with Allen Fieldhouse in the background.

Problem wasn't the defense tonight, it was our "pathetic" hitting.

The Eagle's report on the game.....whoooowheeeee! Talk about locker room material. Reading that even pissed me off.

Ridenhour - looks like a good catch for KU. He wasn't going to come to WSU anyway. He's a Lenexa, KS kid - Johnson County pretty boyz go to K-Who. Oh well, he got the best of us tonight.

Every couple of years, KU beats us and they start talking about overtaking WSU as the predominant program in the state. The verdict is out on that one. We were better in basketball than KU in 2006, but that doesn't mean we overtook KU as the best basketball program in the State.
The sun shines on KU's arse every now and then.

We will see this kid in May, and I hope the stands are packed and we boatrace these fools.

WSU has had plenty of Johnson County kids.

Jim Audley and Pat Magness come to mind.

You cant deny that you have to love Ridenhour's attitude. But the coach needs to real his mouth in just a bit particularly regarding the media. you feel that way and talk that way in the locker room its one thing. To the media is another. Especially for a freshman. But I guess you may be right KC because Price always wants to get it out there that they are the best program in the state even though everyone knows its not the case. I don't Think Ridenhour is going to look forward to facing our kids in the future after the spanking he just laid on them both on the field and with his mouth. The kids will be up for the Hawks next time they face them. Just to bad they weren't last night.

No wonder Ridenhour chose KU. His punka$$ attitude and delusions of grandeur fit in real nicely up in Lowrents. Even more reason to absolutely hate everything about that school and hippie commune. Now, having said that, it's up to the Shox to make that mofo eat his words for the next few years!!! And as far as Price saying the Jawhawks are going to start their own streak against WSU...good luck with that.

Something tells me this loud-mouthed punk won’t take the hill on May 6. But does this really surprise anyone? This has been the norm when KU wins every now and then.

Hopefully this lights a fire under the team. All anyone wants is to see a little passion out on the field. Lately they look more like the Dominicans in the WBC.

Unfortunately, KU looked like the Netherlands last night.

Suellentrop's article on the game and interviews afterward literally made me LOL.

                        Good stuff! :D

Wow! I'm not sure what the opposite of the "Dark Side" is -- the "Light Side," maybe? But if that's it, welcome to the Light Side, KC! Good to have you on board, for however long.

Ridenhour earned the right to pop-off and the Shox did NOTHING to shut him up. I'm ready to see a "SHUT-UP" performance from the Shox offense and the bullpen.

Something I was too cold to type on yesterday.

Sexton was there last night. That's right, the AD made the road trip and stood out in the freezing cold with the fans.

He gets points for that in my book.

Agreed we did nothing to shut his trap but I'm not sure I want our guys popping off in a similar manner. There's the old adage "act like you've been there before."
