Down 4-3 in the top of the 5th.

Runner on 3rd - no outs. 3-2 count on hitter. Pitcher makes a borderline pitch. What's the absolutely worst thing that can happen?

If you said "leave the bat on your shoulder and see if the ump gives you a free pass", you win the teddy bear. A walk achieves nothing. In fact, it sets up a possible DP without scoring a run. A foul ball gives you another pitch to look at. Any contact into fair territory might score a run. A fly ball to the outfield likely scores a run. A base hit scores a run and puts another potential run on base. Crap, even a deep foul fly ball scores a run.

Inning ends with K looking, foul pop up to 1B and a grounder to 2B - runner stranded on 3rd.

I shouldn't blame the hitter. Maybe the coaches gave him a take sign on the 3-2 count.

Luke Ritter misplays a single to right center letting a Bradley runner score all the way from 1st base and give them a runner on 3rd with only 1 out.

Zach did a good job getting out of the inning without furhter damage with 2 ground balls to Alec Bohm at 3rd.

      Bradley 5 - Shocks 3 after 5 complete.

Dugas pinch runs for Ritter. Katzfey has to be very hurt right now.

And just after I give Noah a atta boy he does that. Jordan Boyer needs to pick him up with 2 outs.

Good job by Jordan. Double off the left field wall. 19 of his 25 ribbies have come with 2 outs. At least we have one competitor on this team.

Dugas steals 2nd and 3rd, but Croft strikes out. Need a two out hit.

Now we need Greyson to come through with 2 outs. Get this game tied up.

Perhaps a semi-intentional walk to Greyson. Jacob Katzfey pinch hitting for Travis Young.

Jacob grounds out weakly to 1B to end the inning. Easy to 2nd guess and Travis is only hitting .214 but that is tough place to put Jacob in after not having played for a couple of weeks due to back problems. But perhaps that's the best we can come up with.

I've finally figured out how to watch Shocker baseball on ESPN3 with less disappointment. The trick is to have a distraction and keep the score covered:

Shane Dennis doesn't seem to be overly impressed with the Shocks tonight.

3 errors, 9 left on base, 4 hit batters, 2 wild pitches, just bad baseball.

That was a bizarre running error by Bradley. Just seeing that almost made it worthwhile watching this game.

1 man on base with a home run , but only one run is scored.

Shocks get a lot lucky in the 7th when a Bradley hitter homers and then is out and credited with a single when he passes a teammate that was on 1B. The guy who was on 1B is allowed to score.

Shocks trail 6-4, but it should be 7-4.
