That doesn't necessarily mean 500 unique pairs of eyes. There are 15 posts in this thread. I alone may have viewed this thread ten times.

I have not yet contributed. I have been waiting for an opportunity like this, to not only contribute to the baseball program, but also to promote ShockerNet.

What can I do to move this forward?

Once we get the T-shirt project completed (getting the final order placed). I will set up a "chip in" with a stated goal to receive donations.

A goal of $1000 has been suggested by '72. Any other suggestions?

However you slice it, it is not a very overwhelming response. However, many poeple may prefer to give directly for thier own personal recognition and to insure they get the charitable deduction for income tax purposes.

Perhaps many of those viewing have already contributed? After all, in early February aren't we preaching to the converted?

Possible, but as of the last report there had only been 114 entities or individuals who have contributed to the project.

We have 8,000 plus attending regional games and we only have 114 contributors as of last report, many of who are corporate contributors.

Maybe I just don't get it, but that just seems underwhelming to me, especialloy consider the number of months that have passed since this was announced.

Count me disappointed at this point.

This may sound judgemental to some reading this. So be it.

The idea behind this is that surely there are a few hundred folks reading here that could afford to toss $10-$50 extra (after making a bigger individual donation) toward a collective effort so that the sum will not be insignificant.

If someone is looking for recognition or a tax deduction on a $50 or less contribution, well, I find that to be pathetic and really hope that isn't the case.

Instead of going to lunch some day at Chilis or wherever, brownbag it and toss $10-$20 toward something that will benefit your alma mater - the school and team of which you get entertainment and satisfaction from watching and/or supporting.

Exactly. In addition to what I did on my own, I am in for the shockernet drive for a decent amount. I think if the word spread (and maybe this gets on the hoops board too?) we'll raise some money.

Royal, here is my commitment to the ShockerNet Fund (if and when you do it).

I will contribute 10% (up to a maximum of $200) of whatever ShockerNet raises for the indoor practice facility between now and June 30th.

For example: ShockerNet raises $500, I will kick in $50; ShockerNet raises $1,000, I will kick in $100; Shockernet raises $2,000 or more, I will kick in $200.

                  :goshocks:

Correction: I changed the deadline date to June 30th. That will get us through the 2008 CWS (which hopefully the Shocks will be participating in).

I like where this is heading!

Sounds like the new goal (before the 10% matches by '72 and t7017s) is $2000 by June 30th.

This might catch some more fire once baseball season is underway.
