I would also suspect that they could also match anything that WSU offered him.

Well you say that, but it was reported by KGSO he was offered. Now you can say KGSO is full of it - and that is fine, but they are media, I would hope they would not just make stuff up unlike some on Shockernet.

Yeah, the "media" has never been wrong or jumped to conclusions. As soon as KGSO's report is corroborated or supported by reasonable evidence other than hearsay then it becomes news. I do concede that KGSO did hear and report on a rumor to that effect. The rumor being reported may prove to be true. I don't know. I do know the media is always in a race to be first and that hasn't always lead to the most accurate of reporting.

The bottom line is who will be the next Shocker coach. We should know that by the end of next week at the latest but I think it will probably be sooner than that.

You apparently haven't had the pleasure of listening to Savage.

Sources are mistaken, misunderstood, or misquoted all of the time. He was here but we didn't hear the conversations that took place and neither did the people at KSGO. I would doubt that Sexton would offer the job with other people present.

Maybe KGSO has a friend in the NSA or somebody in the athletic department talked, or...

He quit a head coaching job to go and be an assistant at Alabama. Not sure he is really cut out for the work a WSU would entail.
Those are valid concerns. It also concerns me a little bit that the Arkansas team couldn't hit worth a darn this year. If they could hit at all Arkansas would be in the CWS, they had a great pitching staff.

I heard that Paul Savage heard it from his pool boy whose cousin was having an affair with the son of Eric Sexton's secretary. I'm sure that it is true.

My source (mega booster/neighbor of mine) confirms. A $400k "package" was offered, no details. He and his family toured Wichita with a realtor (also neighbor of mine), and loved what they saw. Saw Crestview, Rocky Creek, and even Hawthorne! No reason given for passing on offer. Also, no mention of Hooper good/bad/indifferent.

Well therein lies part of the problem if they are only showing east side properties. They need to head west to Gods Country.

                            • I wonder, if AD Sexton is the right person to make this hire? Is he in over his head?

                              $400K to Coach Heefner? Really?

Has there been any proven, factual information that AD Sexton is considering any former Shocker? It looks to me that AD Sexton is going out of his way to avoid former Shocker players. If so, I am not happy about it.
