I feel like the new coach should either be someone from the family or if not, a home run kind of hire. Maybe someone who has at least been to the CWS once. I am pretty nervous about a guy who couldn't do any better than 6th place last year in the super weak WAC. I guess after watching Shocker baseball for 36 years and NEVER seeing us do that bad, I can't phantom that possibility.
As far as candidates go, I have known Eric for a long time and I am confident he and Brent are doing their due dillegence and will come up with a great coach. I hope the name we are hearing is NOT the one they hire. I would be very disappointed in both of them if that happens. If he is one of several candidates they have looked at, no problem. Hopefully we will do better.
Last 5 years comparison:
Gene: 59.55% winning, 2 regionals (as auto bid), 0 super regionals. No regional finals.
Dan Heefner: 61.38% winning, 3 regionals (as at large), one super regional. Also, made regional final all three times."I discovered surfing, which I absolutely fell in love with. That feels good and kind of keeps your body aligned, so does the salt water." - Anthony Kiedis
"I'm not worried. Are you worried? You shouldn't be. Sleep well tonight."

Look, we have no idea whether Heefner is going to get this right now. But I think he's a very, very qualified candidate who is also a model citizen and helluva salesman. We're not the only ones contacting him for an interview.

He's being talked about for the auburn and Iowa positions for sure, and probably many more."I discovered surfing, which I absolutely fell in love with. That feels good and kind of keeps your body aligned, so does the salt water." - Anthony Kiedis

For those of you who didn't watch a baseball game there, it was a horrible place.

What did the NBA and Big 12 think about ebay fraud?
What stealthy ninja editing skills in almost every single post, btw. Here was your original quote for posterity:

If you made the wrong move, fans will forget their initial enthusiasm pretty quickly.
