This signals very strongly to me that we are staying in house with this hire. I'd bet a pot of money it's either Standiford or Hooper at this point.
Don't list a bunch of assistants either, I'm talking head coaches who proven success. Tell me how they will deal with the disadvantages they have never faced before? Ridiculous

Name a situation where this has happened before and a prominent head coach was hired away from another school.

ahhh let me answer that for you, it hasn't happened in Wichita state baseball history.
for all anybody knows they may have a candidate identified already that is willing to allow one of the better pitching coach's to stay on his staff and allow the recruits to come here for brent as many recruits have stated already.

I don't understand why you are so touchy about a seemingly obvious observation that keeping Kemnitz signals we are probably hiring an alum. Relax. We will all support whoever it is.

Rumor from a few weeks back that I heard was Hooper...of course, I have no inside information, and it was just a rumor. He was interviewed by the media pretty heavily just before Gene "retired." Hoop was showing support for Gene, and thanking him for what he had done for the him and the program. I can see it as a prelude, and I think Hoop would do a fine job - and knows BK. He has passion.

Explain this to me....why would a manager who's been less than stellar in the Major leagues be considered for the WSU job? and yes, I understand the nostalgia behind what Wedge did at WSU.
If we want to hire proven mediocrity in a manager than by all means, do it.
It'd be like hiring Scott Skiles to replace Gregg Marshall.
Personally, I want a proven winner to replace any WSU coach. The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Found this nugget from the story KWCH.com currently has on the situation. In includes the full text of the press release from Sexton, but this little caveat is very interesting.
Brent Kemnitz will assume day to day responsibilities and operations of the baseball program," Sexton said. "Negotiations have begun to extend Brent's contract (which already runs through 2014) to remain on staff, and be a part of Shocker Baseball moving forward. He has removed himself as a candidate for the Head Coaching position.
