There is either four possible reasons.

1. Green is such a dirt bag hire, nobody want to work for him.

2. Coaches in college baseball see WSU as a undesirable program that has no chance in the new college landscape. So Green is having a tough time lining up coaches.

3. All the hired assistant coaches are now on a RV trek across the United States to get to Wichita. Once they arrive, the announcements will be made from Wichita RV, which Coach Green is a official spokesman for.

4. WSU HR is not allowing anything to be announced until all the prospective assistants are actually under contract with WSU.

I heard on the golf course yesterday that they are not bringing Pelfrey back. That about completes the dismissal of former players/coaches

How so? I heard no such thing. I heard Green say he had already interviewed our assistant coaches and specific to Pelfrey said he is a “total pro”. I heard Pelfrey say things in support of ADKS and that he wanted to continue coaching here. That is all I’ve heard related to Pelfrey and I’ve been listening.

1. It was posted here on that Saturday that Green said he would decide on coaches, it was posted on Shockernet that Siriani had taken a job a Nebraska and Pelfrey had cleared out his desk.

2. I had even questioned about he was still on the roster, and I think WuDrWu (maybe it was somebody else) stated that was because his contract runs to July, but he wasn't going to be on staff.

3. D1Baseball ran a story later that week stated that Claggett would be the pitching coach at WSU.

4. There was even conjecture that Tolle went to the portal because Pelfrey wasn't being retained.

So I'm not sure how anybody could be surprised to hear that Pelfrey not going to be on staff.

I heard from a good source that Hibbs was offered the job before Wedge and turned it down. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but my source is reliable.

Softball was able to replace their pitching coach in 9 days to, im sure it’s the same HR team for baseball if not all of athletics. So that’s no longer an excuse for Green and baseball.

It is entirely possible MP WAS offered one of the positions as a pitching coach but turned it down.

Hooper or Wedge makes sense. They were the only 2 guys that would have moved the needle for fan excitement. If u were going another route, Standiford would have made more sense than Hibbs.

What doesn't makes sense to me is why Hibbs would turn it down than resign his head coaching gig at Charlotte to accept a DOBO position at Wichita State. Unless he thought the DOBO position was his ticket to takeover for Wedge in a few years. It almost happened but not quite.

What makes more sense to me is that this unsubstantiated rumor is more likely than not BS.
