The triple in the ninth was a good calm down whack. Going to the bottom of the ninth with only 2 run lead could have gotten sporty.

Good win in really tough weather conditions. Weather in a word, sucked! Winds 30-40 mph and temps dropping all day long, well into the lower 40's before the final out.

Interesting 9th inning for Cam Bye. Strike out, walk, strike out, walk, strike out. 27 pitches, 13 strikes but no baseballs put into play by the Bearcats. It's a scoreless inning and its a 10-6 Shocker win.

High scoring affair.

Generally, when you have a game with 16 free passes and 3 errors you are usually going to score some runs although it kind of makes for a game that drags along.

The Shocker pitchers walked 8. Cincy pitchers only walked 3 but they hit 5 Shocker batters. Not sure how much the weather conditions contributed to that.

But you want to be able to win both close, low scoring games like yesterday and ugly high scoring games like today.

Now can the Shockers take care of business and finish this off tomorrow.
