Two fielding miscues from UC and two base-running miscues from our guys. What gives.

Speaking of Candy, the Candi man was Solid solid today as was Caden who did us a Favors with 3 outstanding innings of relief in a low-scoring affarir with the Shocks winning 2-1.
Candi and Caden combined on a 2-hitter allowing only 1 run on a 5th inning home run while striking out 12 and walking only 2. Candi only faced 4 over the minimum and only need 80 pitches (51 strikes) to get through 6 innings. Caden only faced 1 batter over minimum in his 3 innings and that was due to an error by David Herring. He threw 46 pitches (with 31 being strikes).
And the Shocks needed every bit of that strong pitching as they only managed 2 runs themselves on 7 hits, 3 walks and 2 Cincy errors.
The Shockers were 2-6 with RISP. Cincy was 0-1 (only 1 runner in scoring position). Cincy did turn 2 double plays that no doubt helped them.
I win is win and at this point I can live with a lack of style points if the Shocks can keep winning games.
Good day in Cincy for the Shocks as the Lady Shocks tennis team defeated Cincy 4-0 (indoors of course).

Not as bad as it looked, temp in the 50s. Not exactly pleasant either, but I'm sure it feels a lot better for our guys than it does for the home team.
Geez that's a shitty looking field though.
Bet you don't see many 2 hitters in college baseball today.

From a pure RPI perspective, since away games don't carry extra weight, we have nothing to gain from playing Cincy do we? If we lose, our RPI will suffer substantially, but if we win we don"t really gain anything. If one or two away games against Cincy get canceled it wouldn't be the worst thing, would it?Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
