    • Here's an article from the World-Herald's Tom Shatel about not only Stephenson, but also Garrido... and his desire to have another CU vs. WSU matchup before they bow out.

Same article dwbarcl linked in just a few posts above.

        Still an interesting article, though.

Whoops... laziness gets me again. You have to watch that @dwbarcl: cat - he's a sneaky one! You can't really trust those Omaha Shocker fans anyway! :)

Thanks SPEShockAlum. I do what I can to contribute from way up in Omaha land. I'm sad to say I'm no longer in the land of Valley.

What? You're in the country of the glorious (Very) Big East. How can you not be bubbling over with excitement?

By the way, your Omaha writer must have stopped paying attention to baseball in the Big 12 minus 3 once Nebraska left, judging from his comment about Garrido's chances depending on a miracle in the conference tournament -- Texas actually was the only team in the league to miss their eight-team tournament, and they did it not by losing a tiebreaker or some such fluke, but by finishing two full games out of eighth.

Then again, I guess for Texas to win the tournament under these circumstances really would require a miracle.

Because I'm a shocker so I love the Valley and enjoyed being able to watch the shox win they came to town.

Any way sorry to get off track from this thread.

                • I'm a basketball guy, not a baseball fan, but when people stop buying tickets, you need to make a change.

                  • People haven't exactly stopped buying tickets. In spite of our horrible weather this year, the Shox rank 21st in attendance nationally. They are finished ahead of several ranked teams including #1 Vanderbilt.

                      Deuces Valley.
                      ... No really, deuces.

                      • This Valley Tournament win will obviously muck up the Fire Gene movement. Not an obvious move now.

                            • I still dont think Gene deserves a pass for winning the MVC tourny...the writing has been on the wall for a change...change can be a good thing, let this be Genes last ride, and what a ride it has started off with...just let this season play out and see where the cards unfold.
