I assume we keep Rogers, Ingram, Thornhill, Rodden, Casserilla, Kaminska, Tolle, and Favors. Maybe Stark. I would expect Stroh and Cornbluom to look at leaving. Anybody else we might keep? Is Bye still
a good bet to get drafted? I bet Coach Wedge processes many players. Listened to him a few days ago and he talked a lot about attitudes and approaches to the game.

The guy that does the broadcast with Mike sometimes
was talking about Stroh at the end of yesterdays game. Talked about how he had struck out 50 times in 109 at bats. Said he was hitting almost 500 when he actually put the ball in play. Not sure this can be corrected. Can it?

So I guess it depends on which Cameron Bye the pros think they are going to get.

I believe Andrew Stewart is moving on although I think he has an extra year of eligibility left if he chooses to use it. But he earned his degree this spring and he participated in senior day activities. No doubt his defensive prowess will be tough to replace but might be able to upgrade of the offensive production at shortstop. Andrew actually had his average up to .279 after the Memphis series, which couple with his defense made him very valuable. But over the final 13 games Andrew only managed to hit .170 as he dropped to .249 on the season. I'm sure Andrew knows pro ball is not in his future so he may as well move on with his life.
Ross Cadena has played a lot of games at catcher for the Shocks and taken quite a beating. A solid defensive catcher. Average hitter. Not much power. Not sure who will replace him. Gage Williams played on 16 games this year but only hit .154.
Conner Holden was a 1-year grad transfer and he had all 6 of the Shocker saves on the season. A very solid year from Conner. Just not enough save opportunities for him to make a big impact.
Those are probably our biggest losses out of the graduating class.
So we will have holes to fill at short, catcher and in the closer role.

It was obvious this year that the roster just wasn’t deep enough. I think the incoming recruiting class is pretty strong. (2023 looks even better!) They will definitely need some of the new blood to step up and contribute right away. I’ve seen lots of freshmen making big differences at top D1 programs this spring. So hopefully a few of these recruits will do the same.
