So much for pitching being ahead of hitting early in the season.

Gifford gives up a run on a 1 out single, a ground rule double and ground out to 3rd cutting the Shocks lead in half at 7-6.

Shocks down in order in their half of the 7th.

Yah, I’m pretty sure expectations for this year need to be trimmed back a tad.

            Shox finally got a 1, 2, 3 inning. Then Shox go down 1, 2, 3 after 3 ground outs.

SIUE still out hitting the Shox 10-9.

SIU has runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. The guy up is 2-3 with a walk today. I think would walk this guy. I doubt the Shocks will though.

I was right no intentional walk. A 3-run homer puts SIU-E up 9-7. SIU-E's first home run in 4 games.

They should have listened to you.

Ugh our pitching didn't want to win this game. Single, double and gave up a home run inn the 9th. Shox down 9-7

They probably would have just gave up a grand slam to the next batter.

Know it’s early (as it is with every team), but I haven’t seen, or heard, much about our pitching staff that impresses me. Hope it gets better.

We will see how much fight this team has. Under HCGS in the good days - a determined team would come out in the 9th with poise and put the other team under pressure and more than likely win.
