I expect one or two lineup changes. I'm also expecting Corrigan Bartlett to start every game this season (a real stretch of prediction I know).

Somewhat surprised we aren't seeing Hamilton in the rotation and stunned that we aren't seeing Jace.

Liam Eddy rolling through first three innings with just one hit.

Leadoff walk and Paxton Wallace two run home run start the bottom of the third and Shocks lead 2-0.

After a ground out for the first out of the third, SIU-E goes to the bullpen. Kennedy indicated this relief pitcher was expected to start the game, so not sure if SIU-E regularly uses an opener or what. He walks first two batters with one out in bottom third.

Both new starters, Ingram and Stewart, strike out to end the third.

Both teams go in order in the fourth, Shocks still lead 2-0 after four.

Liam Eddy walks the leadoff batter in the fifth, second batter with a single to left and SIU-E has first and second with nobody out.

Strike out followed by line drive up the middle scores a run and the leadoff walk comes back to hurt us. Still first and second, one out, 2-1 Shocks.

Another single scores a second run, tied up at two.

After a visit by Pelfrey, Eddy promptly falls behind 3-0 before giving up another hit and the Shocks now trail 3-2, first and third still with one out.

Squeeze play gets a second out but scores the fourth run off the inning. Two out, runner on second. Groundout ends the inning. Shocks trail 4-2 going to bottom five.

Single and two base error by Bartlett sees Shocks with a chance in the fifth with one out.

Kocis strikes out swinging on 3-2 count and there's two outs. Cadena walks on 4 straight, and ball four gets by the catcher and Bartlett scores on the WP and it's 4-3.

Ingram with a triple off the wall ties it up at 4. His second extra base hit of the game after a double in his first AB.

Stewart grounds out and off to sixth tied at 4.

Eddy back out for the sixth and hits the leadoff hitter. Follows that up with two strike outs and a caught stealing to end the inning.

Vanvooren with a bunt single to start the bottom half of the sixth. Sigrist with a walk and first and second with no outs.

Cornblum bunts a pop-up to the catcher for the first out. Next pitch goes through the catcher's legs and Shocks move up to second and third anyway.

Wallace with a single that scores two and Shocks lead 6-4.

Sounds like some Butleresque execution problems still. Also we benefited from a lot of charity.

3-4 including a homer run plus a walk with 7 runs batted in and 2 runs scored for Paxton Wallace. Not expecting that everytime out but that is more like for the Shocker 3-hole hitter.

Chuck Ingram 2-5 including a double and a triple with an RBI batting 6th and David VanVooren also 3-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI batting 9th.

Those 3 guys accounted for 8 of the Shocks 9 hits and all 9 Shocker RBI. Great work by them but need a few more guys to join the party.

Liam Eddy was okay over his 6 innings. Maybe not quite as sharp as he was agaisnt OSU but good enough. Pretty good job by the 3 releivers to close out the game.

SIU-E is a team I would expect the Shockers to beat up on a bit. 9 walks, 2 hit batters and 2 errors by SIU-E certainly helped today as noted by ShockerFever

So far our starting pitching has been underwhelming too.

Shocks trailing 4-2 after 4.5 innings.

VanVooren walked to lead off the Shocker 5th but Paxton Wallace grounded into a 6-4-3 double play before Garrett Kocis homered to right and Corrigan Bartlett homered to left to tie the game at 4-4 and knocking the SIU-E starter out of the game.

Aaron Bechtel on for the Shocks in the 6th in relief of Shocker starter Spencer Hynes.

Aaron gave up a lead off single but then retired the next two batters. After a stolen base a 2-out double scored the go ahead for SIU-E at 5-4 going into the bottom of the 6th.

The Shocks take advantage of some SIU-E charity to tie it up. Ross Cadena was hit by a pitch on a 1-2 count then wild pitched to 2B. Seth Stroh unable to move Cadena over as he struck out. Andy Stewart walked to put runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Jack Sigrist grounded a ball through the infield into left center scoring Cadena to tie it at 5-5 and with the outfield playing deep to the wind howling to left field Steward advanced to 3rd and Sigrist made it to 2nd. Wallace brought in Stewart with the go ahead run with an infield single in the hole to the shortstop with Sigrist holding at 2nd. A line single to right by Kocis scored Sigrist to give the Shocks a 7-5 lead after 6.

Foster Gifford is on the mound to start the 7th for the Shocks.

Bechtel struggling in his first inning in relie to star the 6th. Hopefully Pelfrey got him settled down.

Add the bullpen to that as well.
