Codi gets through the 5th unscathed after giving up a lead-off single. Alec Bohm helped him out on a nice play on a slow chop to end the inning with by far Nebraksa's biggest threat on deck.

Really like backing up the 4-spot with a goose-egg.

Greyson Jenista finishes off a 3-up, 3-down 5th for the Shocks with his 3rd strikeout of the game.

Codi Heuer is out for the 6th inning. He has thrown 82 ptiches through 5 so I'm guessing this will be it for him unless he has an exceptionally low-pitch inning.

An efficient 7-pitch dlean inning inning puts Codi at 89 pitches. They might let him come out of the 7th.

Codi looking the part of an ace today. Very encouraging.

              Mason O'Brien is a corn-killa. 5-0 Shox.

Fixing up his numbers in a big hurry, as can happen this early in the season. Good to see, we clearly need another bat.

Mason a one man wrecking crew today. 2 out RBI single makes it 5-0.

That has to go in the column of solid execution. Walk, SAC Bunt, Single.

This 6th inning has been a very good at bat for the Shocks IMO. Bohm walked. Dugas with a very good sac bunt that he made close at 1st. Ritter with a sharply hit ball but at the 3rd basement for out #2. O'Brien with a clutch 2-out RBI single.

Mason has been up with 4 runners on base so far and has driven all 4 of them in.

Codi back out for the 7th. I'm guessing this inning will probably do it for him.

That's 100 pitches for Codi. That will do it. He leaves with runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs in the 7th which would have to be described as a quality start although one that had a bit of stress early on.

                    Clayton McGinness on in relief.

A bullet to Bohm over to 2nd for the DP. Easy ground out to 2B. Inning over.

Great job by Clayton picking up Codi and preserving the shutout. Wonderful effort from Codi today.

Fantastic work by McGinness and the defense. Liking the 0s, even with some action scattered on the basepaths. Not sure how strong the Neb bats are, but that hasn't really mattered the past several years anyway.

A reliever just inherited a jam and put out the fire with water, not gasoline. Excellent.

Jenista is due and is not facing Alvarado.

Jenista walks. Perhaps semi-intentionally. Alec up with the bases loaded and 1 out.
