This is a fireable offense through and through and an overall scumbag move. If Jans had behaved like that to my daughter he probably wouldn't have any teeth.
edit: Yes, then I would be in the wrong as well. Still not a scumbag who can't keep his hands off women or keep my mouth shut when I have a few in me.

Well, it's much of what we thought. Nothing that would get him arrested, but absolutely something you must not be doing, especially as a Head Coach, especially while married with two children. He'll apologize, seek treatment, and resurface in 2016-2017, and will likely have to sit out 2015-2016.

The smart move is to not hire him this year. This year he can go recruit without being an NCAA coach. Basically he can do what Huggy did before going to kstate. Then next year he gets hired at WSU, has a crying presser, and we go on about our business.
He was a drunk guy at a bar. if you take the letter at face value and true I say it is no big deal. I've seen guys lee their jobs for worse. BGSU way over reacted and they will be back at the bottom again.

Oh my goodness. When you read the university documents on deadspin, its bad. I'm over the idea of bringing him back. What a sad end to what was such a fun situation with him getting the gig at BGSU. I can see why you can say it's tame, because it could have been much worse, but this is a head coach at a D-1 university. It's just a different level of expectation and I can't get behind this stuff. You've gotta know better.

Middle aged, wedding ring, wasted, loud, oblivious, hands, obscene and rude (generally wealthy). They are among the most pathetic individuals I know. What kind of 50 year old man doesn't know his limits? One with a severe problem.
You have to take the letter at face value because in his termination letter, he admitted to nearly everything 100% verbatim.

I've heard stories of his antics at Wichita bars and now this comes out. It was easy to dismiss heresay about his exploits here in Wichita because I never witnessed them first hand. Now, we have a story of his termination and video to support the decision.
The man can't use the "I was drunk" defense, that fall back excuse won't fly for a grown man in a high profile position in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
He may have a problem with the sauce, who knows, but I feel very badly for the guy as he not only just lost a great job, but probably has committed career suicide in terms of ever getting another coaching gig. One day you're on top of the mountain and the next you've hit rock bottom. I really hope he can right the ship and this won't cause him to spiral even more downhill.

If the letter is an accurate representation of what happened (and the University must believe it to be) along with the video, it's a no-brainer. I feel bad for the female victims, as well as Jans. I hope he pursues help, because according to the letter, this wasn't a one oft behavior. Tough love, but I don't want you back at WSU. I believe in second chances, but that second chance has to be at the right place, right time. WSU wouldn't fit either one IMO.
