    My 2 cents.
Fair point. However, I've always been a proponent of the greater good.

IF, and that's capitalized, this wasn't a sexual assault or harassment of a woman, I think he should get a clear second chance for this reason: a world where a grown man made a mistake, maybe goes to AA and turns his world around and can teach young kids to learn from his mistake, before they make their own, is a better world than shunning CJ and blacklisting his career and helping no one else learn anything.

I believe in second chances, but reserve the right to change that stance depending on what type of misconduct it was. I hope for his sake it was just drunk verbal sillyness.

Matter of time.. RT @AutulloAAS: Hearing a cell phone video at a bar was involved in firing of Bowling Green basketball coach Chris Jans.

BGSU fires Chris Jans. A former Wichita State bball assistant. Talked to BGSU and they're being VERY tight lipped.
Because they couldn't verify who he even is. I wouldn't tell anything to the first random kid that called the athletic office either, saying "no, I promise, I really am on the news in Wichita...yeah I mean no one watches me anymore because I keep dogging the local university, but I REALLY am a news person. You just haven't heard of me"

He's from Ohio, they prolly know the REAL Knucklehead up there. He's prolly on BGSU's 'don't talk to this douchebag no matter what' list.

Forbes' penalty had to do with not being forthcoming in an investigation. A passive act, in my opinion. Not nearly as publicly toxic as having been an active participant in an incident of some kind.

I asked BGSU if they obtained the reported video of Chris Jans being "unruly" at a local bar. Their reply, "no comment."

              • Reading the tea leaves, I'm wondering if it could be because he has an issue with drinking. Perhaps someone observed him in public here and tipped the knucklehead off.

Even so, if he had committed a crime, he would have/should have been arrested. So I'm leaning to the camp that he did something disguisting, gross or socially unacceptable.

Disguisting, gross or socially unacceptable is a very forgiveable situation, particularly if he gets medical help (provided he has an issue).

                • This douche really seems to want to throw mud at WSU in anyway he can.

And Coach Forbes had to take a step back to the Juco ranks before he could take a step forward. We will just have to wait and see with Chris. I just hope it isn't so bad that he has become totally radioactive.

Coach Forbes was effusive in his thanks to and praise of 3G for giving him another chance. So, so far anyway, that has worked out well.

Exactly. He seems really interested in getting the scoop on this topic, but he botches the crap out of other topics. What is the deal?

Forbes also had NCAA issues, which is why he had to take a walk through the wilderness for awhile. NCAA schools literally COULDN'T hire him.

I am at Chris Jans' house. One of the members of his staff said that Jans was here but didn't want to talk.

Damn Jans is being stalked already.

Granted. But he still was known as the guy who fell on his sword for Bruce Pearl. I'm just saying that Marshall had no problems hiring him with that baggage.

I fully realize that, other than the fact that there *is* baggage, this is a completely different situation.

                            • The fact that BGSU wants no further comment on a basketball firing doesn't sound too good.

                              ... No really, deuces.

                              • From the BGSU message board (last post on Page 1):

It's not about us having principles. Based on what I just found out, I'm glad we acted in the way we did and it sounds like we did exactly the proper thing needed here. And when it becomes public, I'm sure we'll all agree. It's about how much deeper this runs. This program has been spiraling for years now and this is just one more negative association with it. You might not get tired of watching and waiting for this program to stop spinning, but I am. It's embarrassing anymore.
Nothing really new other than perhaps the details are starting to leak out.
