He was in Cleveland last week supporting the Shockers. Hung out with the boosters in the hotel after the game. Maybe Bowling Green didn't like that.

I would guess that's 100% not the reason.

If that's what it is, then that's a crazy overreaction. I could see them not liking it, but no reason to can him in this matter.

I think that was just a poster trying to be a wise guy and make a joke. At least that was my perception. Somehow I don't feel like laughing.

I feel so bad for the BG fans. They were worried that Jans was going to come back here if we lose HCGM. They had a couple of posts saying they were totally relieved that Marshall was staying here and about how great Jans is and how he was going to build a "dynasty" there.

Such a shame.

Totally agree. I would definitely set a higher standard on a head coaching position than I would an assistant coaching position though.

I would hold a grown man and coach, who is responsible for teaching young men, to a higher standard than I would one of those young men he is supposed to lead. If CJ made a mistake at the age of 19, and then didn't again - well, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

No idea why @coachchrisjans lost his job at Bowling Green, but I know this: He's a GOOD person. And sometimes good people make mistakes.
