Meh. If they were doing well it would make us look desperate. As it is it's just funny given all of the smack Creighton fans talked while leaving the conference.

Zero doubt they'd be doing the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot. Hell, if Marshall left they would have done it.

Cool. Nice moral victory there. I'm just glad so many people were able to watch Creighton tie for last. I was surprised the article made no mention of the convenience of using Groupon.

Here's my favorite line in the article:
"...the Bluejays became the first team to average 17,000+ fans, despite finishing with a losing record, since Louisville in 2000-01."

The Creighton Men's Basketball team ranked sixth nationally in average home attendance in 2014-15, according to official NCAA totals released on Monday.

              LMAO!

That's one way to look for a silver lining. The logical compliment would be it proves people going to CU basketball games must not actually watch the game being played, as we've suspected for years.

Does that mean that more people saw more losses in Omaha than anywhere else in the country?

I think you may be right. What is (19 losses X 17,000 witnesses)? That's how much failure was individually witnessed in the Omaha Public Library this season alone.
If it didn't require a ton of research into the other popular losing teams in the NCAA, I'd almost be compelled to figure out if CU was #1 this season in "individual losses witnessed in person."

EDIT: upon further review, the number of home losses was 8, bringing the failure number to approximately 136,000 :) No losses have been witnessed at Charles Koch since like 2013 so it's tough to compare...

With all that tortuous basketball on display, I bet beer sales were through the roof. Don't be surprised if they have a huge Budweiser logo on the front of their jersey's next year.

That's when I started going to the games, again.

                        You're welcome! :P

                          • I'm confused. Here is a nice write up about the Big East but I didn't see where it mentioned powerhouse Creighton ever...at all. They are supposed to be a powerhouse program by now right? It seems to mention all the other teams. I mean, it IS a full conference overview and all. Creighton is in the Big East, right? This article even spends quite a bit on DePaul and Marquette.

                            Weird. :)

There isn't an overwhelming favorite in the Big East, but Villanova, Georgetown, Xavier and Butler appear to be the early front-runners.

I believe CU and the Hall were both no shows in the lame article. Love the following quote:

"St. John’s was a 9-seed, but the rest were seeded sixth or better, including Villanova, which claimed a No. 1 seed. Unfortunately for the league, none of that translated into postseason success.

The Red Storm and Providence didn’t make it past the first game. Villanova, Georgetown and Butler fizzled out in the round of 32. Nova proved to be the most disappointing in its upset loss to 8-seed NC State.

Xavier was the only team to advance out of the first weekend but was promptly sent packing by Arizona in the Sweet 16."

No what's so new about the Big Least getting a lot of teams in, only to see a lot of teams out early?
