'The FBI is Trumpland': anti-Clinton atmosphere spurred leaks, sources say

"The currently serving FBI agent said Clinton is “the antichrist personified to a large swath of FBI personnel,” and that “the reason why they’re leaking is they’re pro-Trump.”
The agent called the bureau “Trumplandia,” with some colleagues openly discussing voting for a GOP nominee who has garnered unprecedented condemnation from the party’s national security wing and who has pledged to jail Clinton if elected.
At the same time, other sources dispute the depth of support for Trump within the bureau, though they uniformly stated that Clinton is viewed highly unfavorably.
“There are lots of people who don’t think Trump is qualified, but also believe Clinton is corrupt. What you hear a lot is that it’s a bad choice, between an incompetent and a corrupt politician,” said a former FBI official."

If Clinton lost New Hampshire but won her other firewall states, each candidate would finish with 269 electoral votes, taking the election to the House of Representatives. Or maybe not — if Clinton also lost the 2nd Congressional District of Maine, where polls show a tight race and where the demographics are unfavorable to her, Trump would win the Electoral College 270-268, probably despite losing the popular vote.
If the Dems were to lose another election winning the popular vote, you'd have to think the call for the end of the Electoral College would have to get louder.

Maybe, but the the founding father's clearly wanted to protect against the potential suppression of a pure democracy.

There are obviously lots of benefits of the Electoral College, and it is clear that the founders of the country wanted it for whatever reason. The fact that the founders supported something is not a particularly compelling argument to many on the left. I'm not saying we should or should not get rid of the Electoral College, but I just think we'll start to hear a lot more about it if two out of five elections are decided by it.

A popular vote would assure that the country is pretty much governed according to the wishes of the most heavily populated areas of the country. No thank you.

And I don't think there would be much of a chance of passing a Constitutional amendment to change to a popular vote.

One thing I would like to see, however, which does not require a constituional amendment is for all states allocate their electoral college votes as Nebraska and Maine do. The 2 votes to the state-wide winner and the remaining votes allocated based on the winner of each congressional district. This is a decision that any state cam implement. Seems like it would make our votes a bit more meaningful and reflect voter's wishes closer to the grass roots level. May not make much difference though.

Tense for a moment, but it turned out Trump was never in danger. An idiot in the crowd yelled "he's got a gun" and pointed at a man holding an anti-Trump sign in protest. The guy with the sign ended up getting somewhat beat up by the crowd before secret service got there and took him into custody for questioning. He was released that same night.

Good job Trump supporters. Good job.

Donald Trump was rushed off a stage here Saturday by Secret Service agents during a campaign speech after an incident in the crowd near the front of the stage.

Thanks for the overview, but stupid behavior is not unique to Trump supporters, or the GOP.

The anger and viciousness at Trump rallies has indeed been somewhat unique. Even if the behavior is nothing completely new, it has at least grown much more common. I can't count how many media members have written stories about how they've been treated poorly in ways they've never previously experienced covering such events.

But didn't we learn, through wikileaks and other sources, that the violence was initiated by plants placed in the Trump rallies? And didn't we learn that the media was told where to be and what to expect at the rallies?

Or do we just ignore all of that?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

                          Ignore it. Obviously.

Bingo. You just highlighted one of the biggest reasons I will be voting for Hillary tomorrow. That and I agree with her policies more.

Trump has bullied reporters throughout this campaign. I have read several stories about these reporters requiring security and Secret Service escort as they are leaving these arenas. It's absolutely disgusting.
